hi guys anyone had this happen and what is the problem? my pump has been fine the all of a sudden it will slow down for a few min the pump fine again (like a blockage but nothing in the strainer). it is happening sevral times a day but more noticeable on big jobs.
It dose not slow to a trickle but you can see pressure has gone.
could it be the added sparkle iv been using?
any help would be great
thanks joe

How old is the pump?
How old is the battery? Is it on a split relay?
If you run the van engine does the pump pick up speed?
-
Airlock?
-
Airlock can do this.
Someone, I think it was 8wkly, though I could be wrong, recommended "whale" inline one way flow device. I thought was a great idea, but they are hard to slide inside the normal hose pipe between the tank and the pump. Yet they work great.
I've managed to damage mine, but I've opted to order these instead, as I can cut the hose and attach with jubilees instead.

It was me. You need to soften the pipe in boiling water before inserting the valve, also applying a little bit of washing up liquid helps too.

I'd go for battery on this one

your battery is knackered i reckon....

Any air would have been pushed out by now I’d say battery unless the pumps making a horrible noise.
-
thanks for all reply's its not the battery as both new as this was my thought,i got a bull valve but dont use it as befor my old van i had a flat tank so had a lot of airlocking problems that was al fixed by a bull valve stright from the tank.Im going to give the one way valve a go see what happens.
thanks joe

In my early days on wfp, before realising it was trapped air, I would have this for a couple of days. It completely did my nut in.

Recalibrate the controller.
-
The problem may be the pressure switch inside the pump.
-
What exactly "slows down"? The flow, the pump or both? Is the pump actually slowing down or cutting out and in turn slowing the flow at the brush? It would be a lot easier to diagnose your issue if you could clarify. 👍
-
If the water is slowing down on bigger jobs because the water flow is more continuous you may have to re-calibrate the pump controller as the pump is cycling on full demand where it wouldn't make any difference on smaller jobs that are intermittent with the flow.
-
The size of a job is irrelevant, either the controller needs calibrating or it doesn't- regardless of how long the pump is running for. First you must "understand" how water flow rate and pressure cut off values depend on and affect each other.
The OP needs to reply with the main, relevant information before anyone can be of any "meaningful" help.

To be honest im not near the pump when it happens but the flow slows for sure.
