Hi all
As you independant chaps are aware there ia a lot of big commercial work out there and companies want a one stop shop for a service to cover all their locations. i.e. cinema, pub chains etc. At the moment chemdry, rainbow etc rule the roost, I was thinking whether an independant network could be set up. I know that some people will say the NCCA does this but this does not check all the boxes for me. I thought one to two operators per region, a logo on the van so the custy knows that when he booked through supaclean carpets a 'representative' of supaclean attends. I thought then individuals could tender for nationwide contracts and then use their partners everywhere. It would involve a pricing structure for the work but potentially individuals can pick up regular contract work.
What does everyone think?
I will be back online tomorrow morning to collect my 'tried it & it doesn't / won't work responses!' ;D
Regards
Tim

oh one more point, I thought that we could also do like a test bed for products for the group ie on red wine on beige carpet = wineaway or whatever.

Tim :)

This idea has been floated before.
In fact a Network was set up.
called Allerg Stop or somthing like that ??? ???
I read in NCCA Mag that they are talking to insurance companies about the NCCA supplying Carpet Cleaners to undertake Flood Work and Insurance Claims on Carpets.

Sounds a good idea, however it isn't such an easy thing to set up and administer.
You would have to have a central body who organised the admin side. The reason national companies use other national companies to carry out their work is because everything is centralised and they are assured of recieving a uniform service (on paper at least). They are able to provide them with the KPI's they require, these all need to be collated, etc etc, etc.
You then have to demonstrate that the people doing the work are trained to the same standard., are adequatley insured, the central body would also need insurance.
Ask Chem-Dry if you can visit their headquarters, you'll be gobsmacked.
