Title: pole hose and uni-valve

Hi Lads,

Just got the uni valve and loving how it works. However it seems to take 2 or 3 goes sometimes to come on unless i yank the pole hose quite hard. I think its the pole hose causing it as its quite stretchy its Gardiners replacement stuff i bought while ago. just wondering what is the best pole hose to use with these that does't all curl up and become annoying lol but switches it the univalve on with one tug.

Ive not had any problems using silicone hoses like rhino hose.  I know they do a more stiff hose just for the univalve as well.
If look on facebook pages, a chap called david kemp sells it.

PU hose is what’s recommended as it doesn’t stretch like the pvc ones.  However, when cleaning windows on upper floors I often fold the hose in my hand between windows instead of operating the Univalve as it does misfire sometimes even with PU hose.

Exceed is by far the best - it works perfectly with a univalve - just a thought for you - ensure you have calibrated your controller - or set it correctly - I have found that if the guys set the calibration right up the pressure stops the univalve operating on a single pull

Thanks I will re- calibrate the controller tomorrow.

Yes , I’m getting this , first thing it’s fine but as I return my unused hot water to tank it gets hotter as the day goes on and the pressure in the system gets higher

Same thing, when I use 2.5mm jets it works much better than with 2mm jets due to less pressure.

Fed up with it now though, can add some stress to your day when its up in the air and your pulling away on the hose. I just kink the hose now between windows and only use the valve when finished.

It's quicker and easier, if you let the hose starighten out slowly after kinking it you dont get that sudden brust of pressurised flow.
