I am totally fed up with this place and a small handfull of people in it that litterally ruin it for everyone else.
So my thread which yet again got highjacked by Dry Clean is now locked. Why? because I have had enough of this guy directly insulting me and his constant negative attitude. Why is he still here moderators!!! It just doesnt stop from him.
Until he decided to get involved my thread was interesting to most and provided details of suppliers I use,and how things are done at a larger scale, which does inspire people to do the same and move their business forward. What does dry clean do? Bring people down thats all.
Im fed up of being told to develope a thicker skin by people that have never met me. My skin is probably the thickest here or I wouldnt be able to do what im doing with my business.
Its not about a thick skin its about not wanting constant abuse from morons who have achieved next to nothing and hide behind their fake name. Probably wouldnt do this on the facebook forum would you dry clean, not where I could see who you really are and where you are. Your a coward.
How often do we read post from people that say they would contribute something posetive but say they dont get involved on here anymore because the the small few that ruin it. I hear that all the time away from this forum when people in the background contact me directly. People that would have alot of good advice to offer here.
So rather than just ranting what about a solution. Well how about this (which im sure wont be done) On other forms of social media people have the ability to block other people. I dont want Dry clean to post on any of my threads or comment about me on others. Hes not the only one I would happily never hear from again. Why not add a feature to the forum to enable this. The person who starts a thread could be given the ability to block certain people from posting on it. If we had that I could have blocked Dry clean, my thread would still be active and I would still be ansering questions from people that want to do the same marketing. Instead arguments took place thanks to one person and the thread is now locked and no longer helping people that want to learn. How does that make for a good forum!

funny you should post that Lee I have just posted my thoughts too

dont take the bait then lee......we all know what seans like.....hes a sad little man that could have an argument in an empty room with chips on both shoulders.always sniping and putting others down....we ve all met people like that in life...in fact in my younger crazier drinking days ive punched a fair few after one too many drinks...... ;D

To be fair I will hold my hand up, I did call him an Idiot, but lets be clear 8 weekly called me the same and I'm not crying looking him banned, in reference to his locked thread, I had said I would butt out so not sure why it was locked after that.
-
Dry clean if you read the post you would see that Lee doesn't want you to post on any of his threads, why not simply respect the guys wishes and make a point of not posting.
There has been some good business done on this forum over the years, it helps to keep the wheels turning for a lot of people. Sadly it seems that a handful of morons make it harder to enjoy.
-
I enjoy reading Lee's posts as they give me the drive and energy for me to keep driving my business forward. However when I see negative comments I just ignore them and I'm sure others will too!
Sometimes I put ads on my local face book group but sometimes get negative comments regarding WFP V Trad and although in my mind I feel like contributing to the issue I don't because I know genuine people will ignore anything negative and move on.
-
Maybe having a ‘Lee Pryor containment thread’ where Sean cannot post could be the answer?
I know you post some interesting stuff Lee, especially for the fellas that want to grow big domestic rounds, but you also have to respect that not everyone on here wants to copy your business model.
Having your own singular thread would mean you could post your milestones and updates without winding up those who think you are here to massage your ego.
-
Lee as well as post here why don't you now go head long into your YouTube channel? You would reach new audiences, the negative comments would get drowned out and you would likely generate income from it after you get enough subscribers and likes etc.
I would personally love to see guidance and videos building a business in the first 3 years of business. Everything would likely be done on a smaller scale to what you do currently but I imagine it to be some scalable plan as you grow.
I also think the hardest part at the one man band stage is generating enough regular customer enquiries to take the plunge with employing, interviewing correctly and attracting the right employees and developing systems to run the business. These challenges definitely hold me back atm.

The problem is for the sake of their own ego's some on here want you to think its hard, Iv went from a one man band to employing two guys in the last six months and there's nothing hard about it, what holds most if not all back is they want or think they can do it cost free.
-
I agree, some people are just here to entertain themselves and the other small minority.
Pain in the backside, yeah you could just ignore them but they could also just shut the hell up.
Why not create your own forum lee? If CIU won't do anything about the situation then they will suffer as a consequence as I'm sure many will move over.
You'll have total control of the environment, I can bet that these certain people who are dead set on bringing others down on here are stopping a lot of people from expressing themselves fully through fear of being ridiculed by small minded self styled comedians.

Yeah let's censor the place, what a great public forum that would be ::)roll

Cant remember ever asking Lee for advice, but Iv certainly stole knowledge and experience from other members on here.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you can't take insults or criticism then you shouldn't be on a public forum in the first place.
If you want a place where know one has the right to freedom of speech then move to China or Russia.
Or set up your own forum/dictatorship with your own rules and maybe everyone who joins will happily hold hands with you and sing kumbyya.

Freedom of speech is one thing, but when its childish gigglers that are only trying to annoy the sh*t out of people then who needs that kind of input?
Constructive criticism is needed, playground humour and just downright negativity are not. It doesn't add anything to anyone but the very small minority are entertaining and egging each other on.
-
If we were all in a situation like down the local and a crowd we're having a conversation, and these people popped in with these kinds of comments then people would be getting sparked out for real.

No they wouldn't, this forum in many ways reminds me of my long gone local days, we even had a Lee Pryor (we called him John Blow) there where plenty of heated arguments but it never went any further than words, that said the socially awkward never lasted long.

You are unnecessarily abusive and just plain wrong. I stand by my comment that it's idiotic to call Lee a fraud when you hide your own identity when Lee's is out there for all to see.

Read his heater posts and then tell me he's still genuine, and you are in no position to call anybody on here abusive. (roll eyes)

Your comparing completely different things. You go to the pub with people you choose to go with, who's opinions you value and who's company you enjoy. This isn't a pub, it's a group discussion with people of wildly differentiating mental stability levels whom have freedom of speech (other then the use of profanity etc) I.e a public forum.
To mute the voices of those you don't want to talk to or who don't agree with you essentially makes it no longer a forum, but instead a rather boring place of brown nosing wannabes or a window cleaning facebook. Yuck

Can't see what the fuss is all about.
No one is forced to use this forum.
If you are determined to build a massive business why not just concentrate on that?

If Lee was like Dazmond he'd be happier.
I'm always having a light hearted stab at him and he just chills and carries on.
It's called banter.
No place for abuse anywhere though.
When I've commented on Lee's slightly arrogant (sometimes) attitude, I don't think it's been abusive, more like a reminder that no nobody likes a big head😊
-
@Lee, do you ever not stop to consider that you bring all this on yourself?
The only thing you talk about on the forum is you, you and you. There are plenty of others on the forum with large established businesses who do not receive such negativity because they participate in the forum like normal people, and not like some godly entity with his own rules.
People are often to quick to blame others for negativity when in fact it is they that are drawing it upon themselves.

I liked this

Every forum has its idiots, and unfortunately banning people is no longer very effective as it’s easy to re-register with a different username and most IP addresses are dynamic too.
Unless you have a dedicated (and paid) team of full-time moderators who are constantly on the look out for trouble, it’s impossible to enforce.
The best advice I can give is to simply ignore those people who want to argue. By responding to them you perpetuate their behaviour.
After a while they’ll get bored and disappear.
Speaking for myself, I am interested in what you have to say Lee, and have enjoyed following your progress. So please don’t get too frustrated by the naysayers, most members know what they’re like and just ignore them .
Just keep calm and carry on.
-
Please also remember that our "opinions" aren't fact and in many cases we may have it wrong. The comments, topics and posts on here are only a tiny % of that person. Meeting people face to face is very often completely different.
-
I also agree that it very easy to spot the negative comments and ignorance often makes them disappear.
-

Haha im still reading page 1, so ive not read posts on 2nd page yet .
However this seems to be getting out of hand. One moment we agree that we have freedom of speech and the next we want to strike out at people for using their freedom, simply because you get offended or dont like what they have to say.
However freedom of speech does not mean an excuse to berate or verbally abuse others, thats when it can be policed.
It could be argued that this thread is turning into a hate thread if you had a certain mind take on the comments.
-
You've done well Nathan with all the 'comments' you've had aimed at you.
I'm sure we all have issues in our lives that are more important than the fact that someone else somewhere who we'll probably never meet disagrees with us

Hey Spotfree, I've helped and been helped by others on this forum, too many to mention actually and it's been a great help to keep my business going, but I like a laugh in life now and again, so sorry but the banter will continue.
BTW I've never abused anyone on here, the odd criticism, but nothing else

I called Lee an idiot, 8 weekly called me an idiot, hate had nothing to do with either comment, the problem is once you resort to name calling you have already lost the argument so I should have known better.
Thing is its easy to type something in the heat of debate that you really shouldn't have, calling somebody an idiot doesn't help or add anything positive to a debate but its hardly a hanging offence.
-
I just stay away from posts that don’t interest me or make me laugh. 😀
These types come and they go. Really they are on the wrong forum.
-
The only way to solve this is violence. A charity boxing match at the next cleaning show and all proceeds go to Charity ;D ;D

Sounds good I'm up for that
Oh just realised, the only shows I want to go to are to do with Rock n Roll😎😂😅

Mr prior doesn't understand the negativity towards him. Has he ever questioned himself why this could be? If I had loads of negativity towards me on a forum I'd probably start to think that I was doing something wrong or I was rubbing people up the wrong way. Why would I have negativity towards me? Possibly if I spouted stuff about me me me and how well I was doing. My neighbour is in the cleaning business and his company employs over 100 people. He doesn't come on here telling total strangers how well he's doing. If he did he'd only do it so he could have his balls tickled. Ya get me?
Mr prior, you have done very very well so there you go your balls have been tickled 👍

Rather than this turning into a debate I shall lock this. Please all adhere to the forum rules - failure to do so will result in a ban.
Let's learn, grow and share; what the forum is provided to do.
Have a great evening :)
