I'm confused why Steve took his video down off his site. The Univalve's internal moving parts need a bit of lubrication from time to time.

I think it was to do with the fact that showing people was maybe losing him sales in the long run , as a lot of w/c's would just order another and bin the old .
I also think he used to sell the spare O rings but I think has stopped !
I remember when I reposted up his original vid on Youtube to help others out almost instantly he was on me as a subscriber , didnt fancy gettin my arse sued so it had to go  ;D ;D ;D

This is taken from the Exceed website:

'UNI-VALVE:
Uni-Valve as a 6 month parts warranty from date of purchase.
After the 6 Month warranty is up, repairs will cost £15 plus postage.
Please do not attempt to repair uni-valve yourself, as this will void the warranty.'

Thats a bit steep isnt it !
£15 plus 2x postage + VAT
Better off just buying another , but then thats what he wants isnt it !
Clever but not customer friendly is it ?

No, but this is the way of the world - when its broken then buy another. Manufacturers don't want you to repair anything and they don't want to fix anything either, although they still give lip service to providing a fantastic after sales service - marketing hype.

One our 80 year old customers bought a Panasonic cordless vacuum cleaner last September. The handle broke.
Panasonic's guarantee;  send out a replacement handle. What about fitting? Panasonic's response was to find someone who will do it for her if she can't do it herself.

If you couldn't do the job yourself then labour will ontop of the parts will be more than a new washing machine. That's how they've priced the parts.

I was all set to do it , but 210 plus I reckon 20 delivery would mean all that grief to save 39 beer tokens , Nah not for me Ronnie

No I didn't. She told me about it when we last cleaned there. She got her son to fit it.
If she hadn't have had anyone to do it I would have gladly done it for her.

Which reminds me; my next door neighbour ordered a replacment turbo pipe for his VW Transporter from the main agents on Saturday which should be in today. I will fit that for him when he gets it. It will only take a couple of minutes as they just clip together.

(Not to many people have anything good to say about the way VW use this clamp method to join the turbo pipe sections together as they wear out and are expensive to replace.)
