Anyone filled there central heating system with pure water to help prevent sludge?
Just thought of it as we are having some new rads fitted soon, may ask to use the pure water to refill the system. Not sure if it’s a good idea or not.

Wouldnt pure watet damage the copper piping?

No point , it won’t be pure once the plumber puts inhibitors in , as he should 😁

Pure water is corrosive so it wouldnt be great. But then you have P@F's answer so its pointless really

I will let you know how corrosive it is when my heater floods from the inside out as it’s guts are copper 🤪

Yeah the plumber will put inhibitors in, but wasn’t sure if it would help reduce sludge...
Ah well, prob won’t try it!

Most people use fernox or similar to prevent rust build up in a central heating system

My pet plumber charged £400.00 too.

I don't know about pure but why not just put hot water into your system and save on your gas bill.
Eat your heart out, Martin Lewis ;).

Why not, I’ve got spot lights rigged up to shine on my solar panels at night.

Or just use resin to clean the windows and save on water. Lighter, too.
What about hot resin? That'd be a game changer.
