Luckily I had a spare fuse in the van.....

heater wouldnt fire up this morning....i noticed a few days ago that i had to turn the heater setting on and off a few times before it fired up,also the little red light on the side of the heater was throwing up an error code of 3 long flashes(high voltage or low voltage) every time the heater went into its shut down cycle at the end of the day....
so ive been using cold water all day today as i couldnt be bothered to fault find first thing this morning..i dont know whats happened to my hose but its like wire all the time without hot water pumping through it despite the 20c ambient air temperature this afternoon....im sure the hot water has wrecked the hose....anyway hopefully all sorted now...
just a heads up if any of you diesel heater users have the same problem..... ;D
-
i think why i ended up with a dodgy fuse is i didnt fit the lid of the fuse protector properly when fiddling about with it when i first had my heater installed and i reckon a little bit of water has got to it.....anyway lesson learned.....its on properly now.. ;D

looks a bit iffy to me that's not just a blown fuse - looks to be more of a serious power surge type of thing

Another thing it doesn’t like is below a 1/4 of a tank in the vehicle tank with fuel,I had it turn off on me with the red light flashing because of this.
More fuel in the van heater on and off and problem sorted, the hose will right itself when you go back to hot Daz in a matter of minutes.
Where’s that yellow fuse located which slot on the fuse block.

if you notice the fuse isnt actually blown....its just one side of the fuse connector.....looks corroded to me...probably got water in it....

the fuse is on the left side of my heater near where the hot hose goes from heater to my reel.....my heaters slightly different than yours nigel so yours will probably be in a different place......

The yellow 20 amp fuse is located where you can see the red wire in the middle of this pic....

I can that - thats why its a concern, I think corroded is a bit optimistic - fuses I have seen effected by water usually have gone grey and powdery - that looks like a burn to me - but I'm no electrician
personally I would ask someone just to test out the circuit to be safe

yeah your probably right.....who would i get to test it?an electrician?...no chance of grippatank seeing to it...their booked up for months! ::)roll

Auto electrician - maybe even your local garage could do a simple check with a multimeter - all your looking for is the current and amps are what they should be and not not getting any surges ( if your right its just water ingress - then check the fuse in a couple of weeks for damage - if its an electrician problem I think it would kill another fuse in a few days time )

The fuse has been over heating you can see where it has melted on the right hand side

yep your right mate...ill have to keep an eye on it.....
i dont have much luck with these things, all the trouble i had with the heater when i had it installed, the fuel line leaking the other week, now this!not to mention the problems i had with the PF reelmaster when it first got delivered too! ::)roll

At least the fuse did its job bud

It didnt do its job at all . the fuse didnt blow , if its getting enough of a current surge to melt it then it should of blown .
-
Looks to me as some of Nathans hot water must of splashed on it.

U don’t get these problems with a lpg heater😀, 5 years strong and never had a problem

flame going out on windy days regularly.....annoying...
hassle of changing bottles......
having to drain the heater on cold nights...(fiddly little drain screw)....
potential of a gas leak and explosion.......no thanks,been there,done that..... ;D

The right hand side of the fuse is not seated properly. It looks like a loose holder on the right hand side. This would explain the intermittent problems you have had.
