Hi all any body suggest the best gloves for winter thanks andy
-
Argon Skytec. Cheap, warm and comfy. Buy a few pairs as they will start to make your hands smell like most gloves do.
-
skytec argon gloves from b and q are ok...warm too however their not waterproof on the back and the wool inners drive you mad(coming out of the outer glove making it virtually impossible to get them back on after a while) ::)roll...i usually end up having to cut the wool inner gloves out and put them on separately...not ideal....
i usually wear blue nitrile glove liners with showa 377s over the top.they keep your hands clean and dry but not particularly warm so i have some GLACIER "perfect curve" neoprene gloves that are great for freezing cold days, they keep your hands clean, dry and very warm,i also wear the nitriles underneath to stop my hands from smelling......highly recommended....
-
I use these, fully waterproof and thin enough to retain good feeling and operation. They also do a "thermal" version but toolstation doesn't sell it- easily found online/ebay etc though.

The Skytec Argon are definitely the best Winter glove I've used.
They will also suffer a few cycles through the washing machine to eliminate sweaty hand stench.

There is nothing better than these in the cold.

I personally find them too bulky and clumsy. They are nice and warm but tbh anything colder than -2°c I don’t wfp anyway so the Skytec do for me.

Shows 377 gloves with a cheap pair of woolly gloves underneath...
Toasty ;D

Hey Daz,
How long will the Glacier Gloves last with regular use, do you get the dreaded forefinger meets thumb wear out, on the right hand?
Thanks, Phil

They are chunky but you soon get used to them. My hands feel the cold and these made the job manageable

Showa 282 temres
had a look at these yesterday, i have the showa 490, may try a change

I got 4 different pairs of ebay.
I like a glove that isn't stiff. The best ones end up wet, so not good in our job. Makes hands stink.
I also like a glove that's quick to get on as I am taking them on and off all the time.
To be fair, the best gloves were my old motorbike gloves
-
It's funny someone else made this post basically I wear some decent thin gloves but they are no good for any temperature under 4 degrees and this year I intend to work until about -1. Those £15 gloves 8 weekly posted I'm guessing that the best for the warm and waterproof Factor.
But i don't mind spending maybe £50 on a pair of very very good gloves that are warm and waterproof and workable what would you recommend

I wear the blue nitrile gloves under Showa 377 , they’re great but screwfix stopped selling them :'(

I would imagine that those blue nitrile gloves must make your hands sweat?
I know when I tried them they did.
Would you be better of using a pair of glove liners under the Showa 377 which can be washed and re-used?

Good idea 👍 only thing is , once the showa 377 start getting a bit worn , the liners would probably soak the water in?

Nope! nitrile glove liners worn underneath showa 377s DONT make your hands stink or sweat.its the best combination for dry clean hands....
