No surprise I am sure. I dont agitate, never have done and never will. Best, Dave.

I thought you used CFr system Dave!! and dosen't that system need aggitation ?? ie Micro Splitters
-
Stuart, where on earth did you ever get that I use a cfr system. Not that it matters but for the record I dont use one
nor ever would. Same for Texatherm, Dry Fusion or any of the other systems out there. I am not saying there isnt a
use for these systems I am just saying they are not for me and my customers, ever!!!!!!!!! As far as Micro Splitters go,
I have said that I dont even know what they are let alone use them....... and if they need agitating for any reason I
am not going to start using them now either. If the higher solution pressure of a truck mount means that, that in
itself is enough agitation then I might try them but otherwise, no thankyou. Again, I dont agitate or ever will. Best,
Dave....P.S. guess what? I dont like having to agitate......or think there is a need to have to do it.

dave do you brush chemical in with any kind of brush on carpets or upholstery?
Shaun

Shaun, as far as cleaning goes then no I dont for either. When I apply protection then I use a brush for
carpeting but it is a very soft one, not one you would see used for agitating a pre-spray..... On some
silk carpets and I mean wall to wall carpets I use a brush wrapped in a silk sheet to lay the pile as I
want it layed. I know, fussy bloke arent I? ....For upholstery I would use a hand towel to set any pile
but on some fabrics particularly cheneille's I use wall paper brushes and some times very soft paint
brushes. Believe it or not a brush used for spreading tar is a brilliant
brush to use for some fabrics. Best, Dave.

Hi Dave,
interesting to see that you dont agitate your pre spray, having just purchased a T/M I am experimenting with different chems and methods, to get good results, but in the fastest possible time.
Not using a machine to scrub in the pre spray would save a considerable amount of time.
Can I ask, do you pre vac ?
When using a portable I always found that results were far better when the pre spray was scrubbed into the carpet, although this was more apparent AFTER the carpet had dried.
It seems to lift the pile and scrape the surface ( scarify?), removing dull and loose fibres from the carpet.
Dont suppose you would share with us what pre sprays you favour ? ;D

Quite happy to say what I use but I would imagine that you havent heard of it. It is from Steamway and it is called "Formula 0"..... Yes I pre vac as I think you always should on upholstery as most home owners dont. Even the houses I go into the house cleaners arent too hot on doing the furniture. I never vac a carpet, ever!!!! I mostly use a portable on furniture but if I need the truck mount for any carpet in the house I might be doing then I would use it. Best, Dave.

Thanks Dave,
its nice to get an honest answer :)
I was forming the same opinion.
T/M great on carpets, but a (high psi) porty will do upholstery no problem, and is easier to control ( chems, temp, on / off).
I new this before I bought my T/M, so not a surprise.
I have a steamway book somewhere, so will have a look at formula 0 ?
No, I never pre vac ( anything).
I will continue to experiment with aggitation, old habits die hard !
thanks for the NO BS answer
Chris
