Title: Fastar LPG Heater Settings?
Post by: Status Check on November 19, 2018, 06:32:21 pm
Anyone use one of these boilers? I swapped my Ecotemp for the Fastar I have now but the boiler keeps turning off. It's not the safety cut out because it can do it at any time. I have my pump set at 80psi so I don't think it's the water pressure switch. Temp is set at 60 on the digital display.

What settings do you have yours set at if you use one?

I'm getting slightly tired of messing with my immersion heater and different running times pending my start temp etc etc.  If I had the spare money I would certainly upgrade like daz has done, but that's for another day.
However, I may be interested in using a similar gas boiler and the above question will help me understand a bit more about it. But I'm thinking of running my ibc tank water into it and filling my tank with, say 70 degree water at night, ready for the next day, instead of using it in the van. Is this possible?
(sorry I'm asking another question on top of the one posted)

I know it’s obvious but are the batteries ok, also if the temperature is set too high it will go out

Yes batteries are fine, high temp cut out is at 80 degrees which is working fine. Max heating time is 20 mins but my boiler will cut out at any time before that. There is no pattern to it. I will have another play with the settings tomorrow.

I found with my Fastar Boiler that less is more.

I keep the burners on the middle setting, and the water flow numpty to the hot setting.

If i have the burners up high, it seems to work less reliably and i get more miss lighting.

Today it worked flawlessly with the burners just below halfway and i had no miss lighting issues at all.

Dont know if that helps.

Cleaniac, thanks for the reply. What setting do you have your controller set at?

Agree, try not to flog it, we have two both run at about 56 c, all day

The Faster boiler worked better today with only a few early shutdowns. I decreased the water pressure from 78 down to 56 and it seems to like this better. Heater controls set mid way on both dials and it ran at 65 degrees most of the day. I was wondering if it would be more reliable if I fitted a flue? I might get some Flexi ducting and give it a try.

Controller? I dont have a pump controller.

The heater is plumbed into the hose reel after the DI. I have taps on the hoses, and use the pump as-is with its own pressure switch that cuts off at 100psi and control the flow with the taps at the end of the hose
