I see they do a 3' brush. Which is great, you just wouldn't be able to get the quantity of water up a hose that a 3' brush requires to rinse the crap away. Its hard enough getting it up a hose for an 18" brush let alone one twice as wide.

And they want £300 for that brush. Which is also all well and good but when it isn't able to do the job that is required of it why waste that kind of money?

Come on.... £300 for a brush?

If you dont need a chiropractor before you use it you will after.

An inline tds meter for your wfp   ???
Surely an inline meter on your static or van system regularly monitored before you have even left for work is better ?
Finding out your ppm is too high seconds before you clean a window helps nobody.
As usual, Reach It have managed to complicate even the simplest of tasks.

Lol that triggers broom brush my god he’s gone nuts hasn’t he 😂,the blokes so desperate you can almost smell it. I tell you now I don’t know anyone that would be happy with any of those products, the brush with the pad attachments gives no water flow on the glass for a start to rinse even with the brush on the glass. Come on now Perry time to start earning an honest living pal lol.

Post by: Slacky on November 07, 2018, 04:57:26 pm
Yes, that brush with the pad attachments, you’d think he’d make a pad with bristles on it so you then have a proper brush after you’ve scraped all the insect poop off with the brass pad.

Watched it for about 2 mins then got bored.

All I got was some kind TDS device to shove on the pole, what an absolute load of utter rubbish.

As soon as I saw the brush I just turned it off, never needed anything more than my xtreme brushes.

Can’t stand all this gimmicky rubbish.

ill never forget watching a video of a reach it pole a few years ago.the guy literally spent longer adding and removing sections(different coloured sections) than cleaning windows....it was farcical....and confusing......totally OTT....

if anyone finds the video again put it on this thread....its worth watching just for a laugh!! ;D ;D

Yeah that TDS meter is only available on a 60ft pole probably it’s only available for people with eyes like a hawk 😂,what a twat that bloke is what next Perry come on let’s see it. I was stupid enough to buy the Gunslinger although it was advertised under Richie Blue until in received the package that said Reach-It

From what I saw on the constructor brush earlier the chances are it will be goosed by the time you get the pole together and on the 5th floor glass , only to find you didnt connect your in line TDS meter and pole hose to the brush head  ;D

Now that was a whitty remark , but it will be the makings of a real heavy bendy pole .
The thing that annoys me most is the fact that Perry obviously has massive finance and or backing at his disposal and he P's it up the wall so to speak on tat , I mean , I have come up with a few bits of DIY poope over the years on here but have seen early on that it will be no more use than a concrete glider  ;D ;D ;D

P.S  Whatever became of Ritchie Wilts ?

I'm still confused why he even bothered getting the overlap part of the pole sections out first, only to fully extend them anyway. Never mind all the other faffing.  That part just seemed even more pointless

I asked myself the same question when I looked back at the postings on that thread.

Its sad how so many come, stay a while and then disappear.

Our neighbour is into waste management. He is a middle man. He subcontracts everything out. He doesn't touch a thing. Seems to earn a good living out of it and has plenty of time to surf whilst his wife stays at home, answers the phone and does the books.

Yet trying to be a broker between window cleaners and customers doesn't work. I still don't understand why his customers don't go direct to the waste carriers.  I've asked him the same question - he just says that there is so much legislation and regulation that most companies want to delegate that responsibility.

Thing is there's that many mugs who buy all this overpriced, unnecessary crap.

Trolleys for a grand, brushes for 300 quid the list goes on.

Too many treat this as a hobby

I’ve said this same thing many times, there are a lot of window cleaners who have no hobbies, so they get really into window cleaning, they buy all the new rubbish, they make videos on YouTube (usually extremely amateurish) .

They get excited far too easily and buy anything new and shiny, they then put a review in YouTube, this makes them feel secure and gives them self worth. They then repeat this again and again.

Meanwhile, there are loads and loads of window cleaners making very good money, enjoying life with just a Gardiner pole, Gardiner brush and a pure water system. Simple!

Couldn't agree more with the above. I used to tinker and try to improve things or make them look better when I started. Now I just have the most basic of set ups that works faultlessly. But apparently its "uninspiring "  :)

Was that a dig at my vids 🙄😂😂
Just a basic review as a number of my subscribers have asked me to do so, esp on the spray bar.
Yep, mine are very amateurish as I ain't got time or effort to go to town on them. Which may be the case with others, but who knows.   I've more important things to be concentrating on but they are a good distraction from the stressful things in life.

Reach it        certainly doe reach it, as far as the imagination goes anyway 😂 think its mostly the Americans who lap it all up

Nah, it’s not a dig at your reveiw Nathan. Only you know why you make videos  ;) and some videos genuinely are helpful!

BUT... there are people you can see right through, and they (unfortunately) feel the need to post videos and the like for self worth.

Nothing wrong with the odd helpful video mate :)

You just get these window cleaner hobbiests who seem to be a bit obsessed with there job and latest gimmicks, to them, I say, there’s more to life  ;)

Then again, if it makes em happy, so be it I suppose!

If I had a window cleaner setting up his camera to video himself whilst he was cleaning my house windows I would seriously question how balanced his mind was.

Really, especially if he was commentating whilst scrubbing the glass.

Some people are just seriously weird and detached from reality.

The reason I posted that pic on the other thread Daz was at the request of the op. My system is nothing to write home about. As a diy one I'd sooner have neat wires on show with fuses and connections accessible so if something did fail I can diagnose and fix there and then with minimum down time. And that was my whole reason for showing my set up, not for other windies with 5k systems to mock it

You could,  and it would cost around a tenner. A swivel, if you gave it chance and matered it, this would probably make more of a real difference than everything else!!👍

A swivel on my brush has transformed my work. So long as its the slightly longer one out of the two than Gardiners sell.

You can’t beat a nice tidy van with everything out the way cables fuses etc,I think it says a lot about someone when you look in the back of there van lol.

Used condoms, porn mags and the remains of a spliff or two goes a long way if you're trying to impress potential customers.

An impression of size 4 or 5 footprints on the inside of the windscreen over the passenger seat has been known to seal an over-priced fascia clean for me in the past.

I think the closest he got was Rhino hose , but then im not sure it was him that made it maybe just sold it , but then again , i have not heard anybody rave about it for ages , perhaps it was poop then .
I think Nath bought some , ask him  ;D

It's the best pole hose I've used so far and I've gone through quite a lot in three years trying different ones.
There's a more stiff rhino hose for ones who use the univalve.
However, doesn't exceed sell a blue one, which I think is made out of silicone as well.

more of a difference than xtreme poles, electric reels and a decent hot water system?.....THATS A BOLD STATEMENT! ;D

i tried a gardiners swivel a few years ago.....must admit i hated it...i prefer a fixed brush.....

Yep, complimenting all those other things it enhances the user experience hugely! The newer "angled" swivels are best. It's no good putting one on for half a day 'cos it feels awkward, you have to stick with it a wee bit longer, not much but soon you and the swivel become one. It's like an extension of your wrist and you find you are moving your arms and whole body so much less than before as a small twist of the pole gives you brush angles that you previously could only achieve replicating a contortionist!! ;)

The two things I have bought this year that cost the least and gave best results are definitely swivel goose neck and slick connects you don't need to spend a fortune to get tangible benefits  ;D

Soooo very deep Spruce , I have been guilty of doing some P poor vids in my time , maybe I will treat you all to a snippet of my trigger invention from some years ago 😆
I will watch most things just to see through being nosey really , ok some are not worth the YouTube space but I have looked further into the background at peoples setups and on occasion have thought “That’s clever , why have I not done that “ it don’t have to be groundbreaking , just something simple can make all the difference.
Long live the shoddy vid I say.  👍

If I had a window cleaner setting up his camera to video himself whilst he was cleaning my house windows I would seriously question how balanced his mind was.

Really, especially if he was commentating whilst scrubbing the glass.

Some people are just seriously weird and detached from reality.

That’s where you have to see through it slacky, they do it for self worth, (not all) but I think a lot of them do it for the compliments/likes they get.

I’d love to see you with a phone camera walking round your van saying things like ‘so here’s my diesel heater, I’d definitely recommend one’ etc etc.

For me, I think it was around five videos or so into the YouTube channel, I did a vid, basically an intro as to who I am and my company but also to give an explanation to why I do these videos.
My reasoning was to do with using you tube videos to help me decide to upgrade to wfp and many ofthe videos I watched, helped me to do so. However some videos were lacking, whilst others were conflicting.
So for me, it was about giving back so I could help as well. If everyone decided to stop doing such vids, then that list of help would soon deminish.

I certainly didn't expect many to like it, never mind to get over 100 people subscribing.  But no lies, it is great to get subscribers and likes so I know ones are benefiting from them and I'm not talking dribble 😂
So I can see why people do get hooked on wanting the attention and needing the likes and how some may need it more than others for some type of self worth and reasons that some of you guys have touched on.
Others beg n plead for subscribers, perhaps for the YouTube fame or for big boy companies to send them freebies and /or get paid for their advertisements n videos.

It would get way too confusing. first you would get a video telling you a product was useless and didnt work and in the next video the same product would be a game changer, lol

I need to change the pollen filter on my car which I have never done before. I have just watched the worst diy video clip on Youtube on how to do it. Half the time the camera wasn't even pointing in the right place. But despite it, watching it through has given me an idea of where it is and how to unclip it. I'm sure if I hadn't seen the video I would have had no problem doing the job anyway, it just that seeing it done gives me a little more confidence to do it.
I definitely agree that no matter how bad the presentation is, there is usually something you see that is of interest.

I looked at one vid prior to changing my glow plugs on my Fiorino , more as a point of reference to see what it entailed , this guy stripped heat shields , dropped half the exhaust and then removed the turbo completely .
I didnt particularly want to be doing all that but it had to be done for Monday so cracked on .
I took the shields off and scratched my noggin for a bit  ???
I then used a 1/4 inch drive socket set as opposed to his 3/8 socket set and had it done in under 1 hour , 6 x 10 mm bolts is all that had to come off .
His vid did give a point of ref but it also could have cost me many more hours !

Hi Bruce hope life is treating you well!
Yes I haven't been around for some time on the forum, I had a nasty accident in July I fell from a ladder trying to  clear an awkward weed from gutters even though I have a gutter vac 🙄 I thought do I wrestle it from the ground for half an hour or whip up there and have it out in a minute? I made the wrong decision!
I fell landed in the standing position my left foot bent 90° and I broke my 5th metatarsal and my talus.
The metatarsal was fully healed weeks ago but the talus is a notoriously difficult injury to heal due to very limited blood supply and is healing VERY slowly.
It can take between 6 months and a year to fully recover, and when I say fully recover I mean to the best it can.
Worst case scenario is that you can lose the blood supply all together and the bone dies leading to severe difficulty walking.

Thankfully the signs are that I am healing slowly but only just got back to work myself 4 weeks ago! Doing shorter days and on painkillers but at least I feel master of my own destiny again.
It's horrible having to rely on others so much.
Dan

I know exactly how you feel Dan.

In August I came off a flat roof and shattered my lower tibia and have fractures all the way up to my knee and dislocated my ankle, been told it’s probably the worse fracture I could have had.
It’s amazing how you can go from from working 6 days a week one minute to sitting in the sofa week after week.
I have to have a metal fixator on my leg until March so appreciate it when you say about relying on someone else, speedy recovery mate.
