Does anyone know if they drop a van off to you yet so you can carry on working while they are fitting you a hot setup,I know you normally have to take the van to them and they drop it back but I want to be able to carry on working while it’s being done.
Thanks
-
If they supplied a van with a cold system in it and dropped it to me I’d buy a new 1 tomorrow if they took mine and delivered it back to me,Oliver if your reading lol.
-
Maybe worth emailing them, just a thought.
-
surely you can afford to have 2 days off while its getting fitted....
-
they only supplied me with a courtesy van because of the issue with the fuel pick up pipe which should have been noticed BEFORE i drove 4 hours home from their fitting centre! ::)roll ;D
-
I don’t want to drive there Daz I want them to leave me a van and take mine they must have 1 they can leave me for a few days.

Probably but they will charge
-
I have asked this myself
They will not loan a van
They will only rent you a van, but it's around £70 plus vat a day (I may be wrong)
Personally I think they are missing a trick, if they had a loan van, free of charge I'm sure more would order hot water systems, that as we know take at least two /three days to install.
Logistically, they drive down in the loan van, drop to you and drive yours away, surely it would benefit them as they either have to bring 2 blokes or leave their van parked up at your premises for the three days they are away.
Personally depending on finances and work due, I would probably suck it and take the van rental.
Just my thoughts

Your right they are missing a trick, like I say I don’t want the hassle of the drive up. If I have to pay for a van for a couple of days I’d pay it but as you say by leaving you a van to carry on working would take all the grief away from it all.
-
If you can't afford to take a couple of days off and enjoy a break away while the work is being done then you probably couldn't afford the system anyway ;D
-
M8 if I took a few days off I’d be losing quiet a bit of money,I know it’s only a couple of days but it’s a waste just for the sake of them providing a vehicle.

So you never take holidays or sick days or even have a day off because you feel like it?

where would you be driving from anyway nigel?you cant expect grippa to drive 4 hours to drop a spare van off for me then drive mine down there to get it fitted...its ridiculous....(even though thats exactly what they did to fix the fuel problem but it was their fault).....
grippa are pretty much fully booked with system installs so why would they create hassle for themselves by offering this service?it wouldnt make commercial sense....

what a sad way of looking at it nigel...(IMO)...TAKE THE TIME OFF!stop chasing the dollar every min of your life.....your a long time dead... ;D
-
Firstly I’d talk to them direct and see if you can get a van on loan worked into the price - simples
Secondly I don’t think they are missing a trick at all - there’s a big cost suppling a van and even more driving all over the country without charging for it
Thirdly you guys with hot are supposed to be cleaning so fast and saving so much money you’ll have caught up the backlog of work by the end of the following week

I’d pay Daz they pick it up drop it back even if they charged it would suit me better,if it’s wet there’s always something I’ve got to do I’ve got other cleaning contracts we can be getting on with on a weekly basis.
-
Hot water is coming into its own over the next 6 months,if you had a hot system for the frost stat feature alone you’d be made up with it.

I thought you already had a hot home made system ? Shorley you can go 3 days without working ?.. that’s the whole point of running your own buisness being able to do what you want , Oliver picked up my van took it to Cambridge fitted the boiler and did a load of other work for me on it and brought it back to me I wasn’t in a rush as it was an additional vehicle but cornwall to Cambridge is about 340 miles each way ,due to the amount of work they were doing he didn’t charge me for collection and delivery , I would thoroughly recomend them very good quality equipment and neatly fitted , not the cheapest but you get what you pay for . Pure freedom couldn’t evan bother to return my phone calls about getting a quote from them for a boiler figment after phoning 3 times each time I was promised a return call the same day still waiting now !,, Oliver was excellent I wanted a stainless steel water inlet and outlets under the van made as a bespoke thing I explained to him what I wanted , what I got was exactly what I hoped for there engineering is second to none all made and very professionaly fitted

I have 1 m8 need another
-
Where are you based NWH?
-
All sorted now much love to Oliver, ordered today the 9kw heater.
Exellent service returned my calls and sent me a price within half an hour with a date for fitting.
-
Been using cold water for a week or so now and I noticed I’m getting so much more grit and dirt sticking to the hoses.

You couldn't make this stuff up, lol,

It feels like it’s giving me a dry clean

is your old heater knackered now nigel?
-
I don’t think it’s knackered Daz but it has a fault on it,it’s less than a year old the internal workings that is. It’s a different model to the one grippa sell so if I get a fault in the future it’s got 3 years warranty and even after that they’ll be able to plug it in and fix it,I just want a new one m8 Oliver will get it looking all neat and tidy again
-
I’ve gone for the 9 kw version and I’m getting 45-50 degrees out of the 5kw so I’m hoping for more heat at the brush, did a weatherboard clean yesterday with cold 😂 it came up clean but it didn’t look like it had been deep cleaned if you know what I mean as it does with hot.

yep same one ive got nigel plus you ll get the frost stat feature which you didnt have on your other one.during the cold spell last winter when we had the snow/ice it was brilliant....you ll get 60c+ at the brush end in the warmer months for sure.....the smart b+b charger is very good too and will keep the batteries topped up when your out and about(which is even more important in the colder months IMO)
not cheap but its a good heater(£750 was VAT though!).oliver also fitted my pump inside the heater so the systems nice and tidy..... :)
-
Daz I have the battery to battery charger or inverter from them m8,I’ve had a frost stat feature for 12 years 😂,I can strip 1 down and replace it all I just can’t be bothered anymore my Mrs has had enough of me messing about outside for hours stripping bits off and replacing them she’s bought me another 1. I also want it to look nice when I open the back doors all nice and shiney,I’ll only end up giving to the Taxman in 18 months. So yes I’m getting a new 1 m8 but I’ve had hot water for nearly 13 years now. 🙏
-
For the plug into the mains charger I paid more than 750 m8 more like 12-1300 quid I paid last year.
-
I also stripped off the needle valve adjuster on my 5 kw so it was just running hot all year,in the winter on some windows it was like Russian roulette on some panes of glass.
-
They don’t sell a hot water diesel unit without the frost stat mode m8 they never have done the controller looks different but they all have that feature, pointless having a heater without it.
-
Love the frost system on my Grippa Hydro Heat, and saves all the faffing and worry.
Only downside I have on it is the noise it makes as it sounds amplified in the dead of the night. Its not too loud but the start up process makes a few loud jet engine noises but gets quieter once its heated up. Not had any complaints from neighbours last winter so far, but my wife has complained to me a few times during the night.
But its worth it!!

Depends who fits it for you if the air intake pipe has less kinks in it the heater is quieter, the grippa heater is the same as the Ionic’s 1 but it’s fitted differently hence it’s quieter.

Mine is very noisy and it’s a Grippatank wakes me up when it kicks in

It sounds like a jumbo jet engine when it fires up in the middle of the night!im not bothered about the neighbours.... ;D

That quote has convinced me you should never be left unsupervised with matches ;D

I’m serious 😂 then again if ain’t got hot you’d never know what I mean.
-
so when are you getting yours fitted nigel?it wont be long before jonny gets his fitted too now....... 8)
my advice to anyone who likes to work with hot water is when you get a new van(or nearly new) get it kitted out with a 9kw professionally installed diesel heater....no messing about with immersions, gas shower heaters and gas bottles....its far safer, less hassle and the water is more reliably hot....
no worries during cold winter nights.....you dont have to do anything!
no flame going out on windy days like LPG heaters....
no wasting time changing gas bottles.......
nice neat van with everything incorporated in the cabinet....
no leaks as everything has high quality john guest fittings as standard(or stainless steel fittings)....
i wish id got one years ago..... :)

I had a purefreedom 9kw system, I still haven’t a clue what you’re on about😉
-
When you use hot everything stays cleaner and more supple I’m having to use cold water at the moment and the comfort of soft hoses had gone at the minute,it’s like reeling in a load of wire cable 😂
