This is peeing me off a bit now!
I’ve got a 4040 stainless steel ro and the membrane has lasted quite a while now (about 6 year)
I’ve changed the membrane and fitted everything back up, when I turn the water on to fill it lasts about 2 mins and then one end cap on one side keeps popping off.

It’s not in properly.

Not the first time I’ve heard that quote....
How do you get it in properly? I’ve tapped it in with hammer and some wood, I thought it would be in properly.
Is there a certain technique to it

Yes. Like getting the top in a barrel. Get on side in then hammer round. First time I did it took two days but it’s easy now. Make sure the rubber seal is sat properly mind. If the white ring goes infully and the seal is in correctly then it’s in. Got a photo?

It lasted you 6 years :o
Do you use a thimble full a week?
My Axeon Ultra Low Flow membrane is spent after a year. I use 2000 ltrs a week.

I think I see the problem. It needs to be inside the silver thing. ;D
But seriously I meant a picture of the top after installing.

:( I’m on day 2 with this filter my apologies
Give me 10 mins and I’ll have the pics over

Have you managed to put the white “holding ring” thingy back on the end cap?
-
If it's a hoselock fitting than you might need a new rubber seal. It's easiest to fit John Guest fittings, makes life simple and reliable

Right lads first of all thanks a lot for all your help.
I feel a little silly now but it was a stainless steel housing with some clips that go over the end cap and housing shaft. I was just putting it over the housing and not onto both.
Thanks again! Sure it won’t be the last time you guys hear from me lol

Another cleaner has done the same thing before so you aren't alone :)

Haha well that makes me feel slightly better spruce.
Finally my van is on fill ready for tomorrow.
Another thing, my old membrane was a hf4 and this new one is a hf5.
I’ve googled them both and had a look at the spec, doesn’t sound like there’s that much of a difference with them?
