Title: For those who keep yourself sane using podcasts and audible
Post by: The Jester of Wibbly on August 21, 2018, 02:58:49 pm
As per title.   Any recommendations for good listens or podcasts?

I like autobiographies on Audible and the motivational, comedies and paranormal podcasts.

I use audible a lot.

Just finished Rebus.
Just started some lectures in economics.
Gaiman’s neverwhere was pretty good. As was the Sherlock Holmes.

Keeps me sane.

I enjoyed Neverwhere. Try the Moriarty novel by Anthony Horowitz.

I'm currently listening to Snuff by Terry Pratchett.

I would love to speak Spanish , to be honest it just sounds like noise to me at the minute as I haven’t got a clue what’s being said 😂

True crime, history of mankind, history of the universe, historical crime fiction are what I listen to to pass the time.

Have you listened to the C J Sansome Shardlake series? Quite the best there is.

I have, but found the books better than listening to them on audible.

Saying that, they’re still enjoyable listening to them and certainly help with keeping the mind from tumbling over the cliff......

I sometines like to listen to the odd war novel.

Makes me feel grateful for what we have.  Plus being a window cleaner isn't all that bad considering.

What's wrong with being insane? I think I'm going to contact my briefs about this.
I tried those audio books but the page turning did my head in.

I found the First World War ones a bit over the top.

Outlander is very good on Audible. Good value too, each book is about 50 hours.

The best one one ive found recently is 'Athletico Mince' - a very random podcast from Bob Mortimer, has me in stitches while on the glass... if anyones heard these they will say the same!
