I've always uses cheap Chinese pumps, ran straight off the battery via a simple switch. Never really had much issue with it, apart from them needing replacing every 6 months.
So anyway I thought why not upgrade to shurflo pumps and digital v11 controllers.
Good idea.
Except 2 things, firstly we have both pumps running all day pretty much but lately come the end of the day the pumps are running really slow...it's a 115ag battery only 6 months old. Seem the amp draw on shurflo pumps is a lot higher.
I don't really know what's going on I've had the battery tested and it's good, I've also bought a new charger and his hasnt made a difference.
I've tried calibrating controllers but doesn't seem to do much it still takes ages for pumps to shut off. I've had the pumps wires without the pressure switch and with the pressure switch and it doesn't make any difference. Is there a way of shutting the current draw off via controller? How do do calibrate the bloody things? The pressure build up before dead end is way too high, it's blowing out the fittings all day on the rectus.
Are the analog controllers any better?
Thinking of just going back to the cheap pumps never had this faff before.

I doubt it's the Shurflo pumps that are causing a problem, it's the controllers over running which is building pressure and using up more battery juice than they need to.
I can't help with telling you how to calibrate the digital controllers and the shut off as mine are analogue with manual dial adjustment.
But im sure someone will be along to tell you how it's done.....

Nothing like the power of van battery during the day 😀
I run shurflo pumps the way you run ur cheap Chinese pumps
Van battery direct to pump via a switch, can't be dealing with controllers saying de or acting the goat here and there.
Only time I see the use for a controller is if u are restricted by the amount of water u have, or a job were ur limited to the amount of water u can leave on the ground for some reason or another

Yes Matt starting to think they are just extra gubbins without any real benefit.
Which is why I never bothered with them for years.
I only got some because I heard tales of people having the same shurflo pumps for 5 years and that a controller prolongs their life.
The ones i used to buy where £12 a go and usually went through a couple a year.
