Title: Ladder leveler
Post by: G & M on August 11, 2018, 09:56:38 pm
Been searching the net for ladder levelling devices and there don't seem to be many choices available in the U.K.  I used to use the ladder basemate  but they have been taken off the market.  Which type if any do you use?

If you don't use ladders then this topic isn't of interest to you but on the other hand if you don't use ladders then you  are offering a very limited service Gomo. Ladders are an integral part of our kit and used on a day to day basis. Thank you Simon for your help.

Gomo. There are plenty of situations where using a ladder to clean windows or gain access to a set of windows and then clean WFP that couldn't be done without the safe use of a portable ladder. We use ladders as well as WFP, Rope access, MEWP and on some jobs all of these methods on the same site/property. Yes people still use ladders these days and my sets of ladders earn me good money just the same as the other methods above.

Much safer is an A point window cleaners ladder.
It acts as a tripod and won't wobble.
I used them for years in a really hilly area there was hardly a level road or pavement around.

The splay-footed pointer ladder was developed by window cleaners to be stable in all but the most extreme situations.  It's the right tool for the job, why use something that isn't designed or intended for use in anything other than level, square situations?
