Title: Trolley wiring help.
Post by: Edge Clean on August 09, 2018, 01:55:11 pm
i was hoping to be back to WFP the top windows on my round today, but realised I have lost some wiring.

I know that I connect the orange wire from pump to + terminal and the black to - terminal.

The problem is I have lost the wires from the battery to the switch, I am sure one of the lost wires had a fuse on it between the battery and the switch, not sure if it was on the orange wire or black wire.

I have managed to get the switch working using a couple of pieces of old electrical cable, but don't want to potentially knacker my pump, if there has to be a fuse on the wire.

Is the fuse essential and if so do any suppliers sell the wire with fuse built in?

Any help gratefully appreciated, Thanks.

The fuse if needed would go on the live wire (positive wire)
If you have a car place, ie here we have "bulls eye" or even the range perhaps.   But you can get an inline split wire fuse from these places.

As Nathan says buy a fuse holder from local motor spares/Halfords or Ebay, and fit it close to the Battery.
I believe i have a 7.5 amp bladed fuse in mine.

Thanks lads.

The local "YouTube" mechanic has put a wire together for me and it is working well.
