Title: pump psi and varistream
Post by: H h20 on June 24, 2006, 06:18:20 pm
I use a  Shurflo 100psi pump with a varistream and was wondering if it makes any difference if you use a different psi pump ie 60,75 etc, when you disconnect the pressure switch and connect it to a varistream does it make what the psi was in the first place, only i have got a 60 psi Shurflo pump and was wondering if it will work the same as the 100 psi when i connect it to a varistream, what psi do the pumps become when you disconnect the pressure switch and connect it to a varistream  ???,Gaz

The psi only applies to the cut-off switch. The only difference once disconnected is the flow rate of the pump. Usually the higher a pumps PSI rating the higher the flow rate. We sometimes put a 60psi switch on a 100psi flojet to get the increased flow rate but keep a low cut-off pressure.
