Title: Busy
Post by: Robin Ray on July 03, 2018, 06:07:13 pm
When is busy good, and when is it too busy?
We are fully booked for just over a month in advance now which is nice but we are turning work away on a daily basis as people want it done sooner or we are passing it on to nearby carpet cleaners. I like being booked for about two weeks seems the perfect balance. How is every one else doing?

Busy as I want to be.
Not been overbooking work during this heat because at my age 2 to 3 jobs is enough for the day and I'm knackered by 1.30.
Got 2.5 weeks in front at the moment.

It is very busy which is unusual when there’s a World Cup on I hate being this booked up I much prefer to be able to have a few spaces to get urgent jobs in you can guarantee one of your oldest or biggest customers will call.

I'm based in London and I'm never booked up ahead(3 years of cc). Today is Monday and Next week I have 3 jobs booked in, by Thursday-Friday I will get another 2-3 jobs booked in and then the same week I will book a few more jobs in for the same week.  I very rarely get asked for dates in advance, everybody wants it,  Tomorrow or in the next few days.  I get  a few phone calls per month for, can you come today and I'm never available to do them or if I am I book them in at silly O' clock and throw a big number at them, worked a few times....

I was never booked more than 1 week in advance, this was working 8am to 2-3pm. if I got a emergency I would do it at the end of the day.

Like Marios says people call wanting it with a week they don’t schedule stuff massively in advance they might wait but it’s not what they want.

I’ve never known it this busy for a long time, I work 5.5 days a week 8 - 5 ish sometimes earlier finish occasionally later  half day Saturday but I’m booking work in for first week in September (I am going away for a week as I think I deserve a break)  I’m getting enquiries and I can’t fit them in, older customers fortunately will wait.

It’s unbelievably busy, got 3 weeks away soon so stopped my marketing last week...although most work is still repeat and recommendations I’m full the first week in Sept...
Also I’m in the top few price wise (ins Shaun)
Usually cheap people booked up

Going away! You’re earning too much money again Mr Ashmore. Being a Yorkshire man you really shouldn’t be bragging like that! ;D

It’s always seemed to me that as the weather improves (and especially gets hotter) it always gets busier.

The hotter it is the harder and faster you seem to have to work to keep up with the demand.

Unfortunately the reverse isn’t quite true for cold weather. >:(
