A good friend was walking by a building used for several large events, including weddings and public venues and noticed some work was being carried out. So she engaged in conversation and it became clear the young chap was the new proprietor of the building and that he had been let down by someone doing a poor job of external cleaning. So she eagerly put me forward.
After being contacted i went down to chat n quote and saw the previous persons attempt at pressure cleaning. (poor fool, looks like the karcher bregade with zebra patches all over the slabs and it took all day just for a small section)
So after chatting, just put my quote in (after a couple of days calculating). Its the biggest job ive under taken esp for a one man band. Job entails pressure washing slabs n stone railings, soft washing walls, graffiti removal and last but not least glass cleaning.
Reckon its between two n three days work and quoted just over 2grand.
Obviously be nice to get and add to my portfolio, especially as many public events takes place and it will get my business out there more. But! at the same time its a huge task and im wondering if to call in some slackies for general help purposes and/or if this is successful, to run with this in a large way and heavily invest in this side of the business.
Tho it all could be (well it actually is at the moment) just wishful thinking at the moment until the quote is accepted

Sorry, we’re not subbies. You’ll have to do your own dirty work 😍
-
A huge task or 2 to 3 days work for one man- which one is it? ;D
-
It will soon be the ex proprietor if he is going to be stupid enough to fork out over 2 grand for 2-3 day’s work!

What would you call one building, exterior clean requiring three days work by one person. Me, i call that a huge task ;D

Your rightit should be more ;D ;D
Put it this way, theres one section requiring pressure washing at 250 metre square @£3 a square meter. Costs start to build up. But being the nice chap I am, the window cleaning side of it is free, and theres alot of windows
-
You sure you've not underestimated how long it will take?
On a serious note I have a washer if you need a hand.
I will only charge £300 per day labour.

Its Nathan, a good friend just happens to be walking past a large venue and bumps into the new proprietor who has been let
down by some guy with a Karcher power washer and window vac.
He's pinched that story from Bob the builder or a similar TV show. lol.

250m of pressure washing, is that block paving, slabs or what?
As that’s at least 2 days in itself if just slabs, done properly. Block paving even longer.
Whats the other £1500 go on for the one other days work?

Exactly, how can you entertain taking on a job of this nature. You now you haven't got it in you, you suffer nervous breakdowns and have to work weekends when you're three days behind on your monthly gear.

This isnt a variable that plays havoc with my routine, ie the family getting sick for instance. This would be a job scheduled into my routine by condensing my work to incorporate the bigger task.

Why faff around with a FSC?! Just get a turbo nozzle on it won't take long at all.

250 sm @ £3 per sm is only £750 so what’s the other £1250 for ?

Profit ;D

I'll bet you know you're stressed now rather than excited !!! ;D ;D
-
Dont you guys read or do you just read what you want to and come/make your own conclusions ;D ;D
This is a full exterial clean, walls, floors, canopies etc etc. The picture of the slabs also stated that this was just a section of slabs I need to clean. Until im chosen to do the job, I aint gonna post full details and show the whole lot.............. You'll have to wait for my video for that 😂😂😂
Yes turbos are great, but fsc will do so much quicker and without creating extra mess. Also helps with foot traffic from the general public with no drift spray etc etc etc.
Am i more stressed due to comments on here. ::)roll ::)roll ::)roll ::)roll erm no

I think you need to stick to windows nat. Or at the very least get more experience , unless you have a really pukka PW setup your fsc will look worse than the karcher Your dismissive of, turbo all the way for me
As reflections noted that 250 Sq shouldn’t take long and what are you doing regards graffiti?
Steam ? Chemicals ( which ones ? )
Insurance? Cone off public area, rams, method statements, public footpaths - if they have not asked for any/ all of these I doubt they are serious (sorry)

I enjoy the use of a fsc, only if your inexperienced will you get tram lines or lines. Turbos are great, but you get hell of alot of drift spray unlike using a fsc.
Dont get me wrong, i love the turbo n i will be using it as well, but as i mentioned above Ive not given the full details on this thread, why should I. I wasnt asking if my price was right or how I should go about this or that.
However it is my biggest job to date and if I was to do this work it would go a long way in helping my company be recognised in other aspects. The stressed part comes that the reverse is also true, alot of damage to my company if a bad job is done.
(dont tell me ones dont worry if they do a good enough job or not, its that drive that keeps ensuring you do a good job)
Ps, whats the best way in removing graffiti?
😂😂😂 only joking to the above question
-
Hot water should remove the graffiti just be careful not to melt the concrete. lol.

I didn't realise they had places like that in Donny :o.
And I'm surprised that they are struggling to get it cleaned; you'd think they'd just get a firm in.
But good luck with it, Nathan, and I hope it comes off for you.
I'm all for supporting the little man (not physically, of course, and no offence ;D).

Doesn’t look like it needs cleaning from the photos so should be a nice easy job
-
When we did the walk around, I mentioned it didnt look that untidy and if he just wanted me to clean the sections which needed alot of attention, thinking this would cut down on the quote, lol and the time. Yet hes happy for it all to be cleaned, so its done.
As far as I know, im one of two people hes asked, but the other company was asked several days before I went to quote and had not sent their quote in by time I did mine.

Did you get the job then? You’ve gone quiet these days so I was thinking maybe your busy pressure washing.
I miss your videos :'( ;D
