Not keen on the force of the water when you turn it on, probably better with cold water,

Can you not turn your flow down or recalibrate the cut off pressure?

your controller needs re calibrating mate.its nothing to do with the univalve......i use hot water too and dont get a surge of water(unless i need to recalibrate)when i turn my univalve back on....
