Anyone lifted one alone or will I need someone to help me?
I've always lifted them with someone else so never tried alone - is it possible?
Thanks,
Vin

I dragged mine into the garage but was heavy . It probably could be done unless you’ve got skinny arms and moobs like NK ;D
-
I moved mine on my own , not especially heavy but awkward due to the size .
If you tip it up so one end is resting on lip of van then lift the other end up and push should be fairly easy.
-
Awkward, but can be done

As explained

yes can be done but id rather not keep repeating the experience
as mentioned you need to get the leading edge up into the van by tilting it and 'walking' it onto the lip then its easy to push in

Roll it in.

Thanks all - I'll give it a crack. What could go wrong, bar a slipped disc?

Do a proper risk assessment and find out.
-
Same as all above have done this before, its all tilting and leverage.
Would cover the point of entry on the van floor with something protective and slippy, will make things a lot easier when pushing in.

I managed to carry my ibc to my van, a fiat scudo and lift it in. Its a tight fit but managed.
Then at home, again lifted it out and carried it.
Its quite suprising what these skinny arms are capable off

Done and dusted, thanks to all.

You lifted an ibc up and carried it did you? Wow your so strong Nathan , whilst everyone else walks it in or slides it around. You simply .... lift it and carry it .... ::)roll
-
i couldnt lift mine....nightmare..... ::)roll
........i did have 1000L of water in it at the time though! ;D

i couldnt lift mine....nightmare..... ::)roll
Obviously not lifting heavy enough at the gym Daz. Maybe Nathan will sort you a gym routine out so you can start growing a proper chest like his.

All you gym goers couldnt lift it up and balance/rest it on your thighs as you took steps. Haha all be it very little steps?
Its a light flimsy plastic hollow cube with a light frame. The only heavy parts are the rubber footings on it.
You guys make me laugh

I think it’s time for a video Nathan , show everyone how to pick an ibc up and carry it :D
-
yep lets see a video

If you do a video of yourself carrying an ibc I'll do a video of me eating my Gardiner baseball cap!
Its not the weight that's the problem, although its not light. Just getting your arms around it to lift is hard work alone. All the weight is in the pallet at the bottom, if you can lift from the pallet it would be a lot easier but due to the size/shape its a beetch.
