ex business partner took my missus to court not the other way around malc.im just glad my missus didnt pay for a solicitor as she would of lost anyway.......courts cost were around £600.....if she had a solicitor i reckon that would have been another £3k on top of the £4.7k....lesson learned now (hopefully!)

I've never worked a bank holiday in 14 years and ain't gonna start now, bit like working on a Friday that's my day off every week and working Monday to Thursday give me a long weekend every week, there's more to life than work work, if I could go carping every day and get paid then that's the perfect life for me, all work and no play makes me a agitated man, work hard Monday to thurs and play hard Fri Sat sunday.
-
Long weekend for me fly fishing this morning allotment this afternoon chilling with a beer now after walking the dogs ;D
-
well I'm up at silly o'clock in morning for some bunnies and general pest control , fishing at some point sat till Monday but depends on the two permissions I have for pest control might not get there till dark if it's a good shoot if not up hedding up A1 to Peterborough lake as fast as I can If bunnies or grey squirrels not play nice, my only concern is I got to take my big boy toys for a big dog fox so lake won't let me leave them lock safely in van so hope land owners have room in there safes for rem 223 and.22wmr an177hmr plus FAC air rifle scorpion se and a bsa r10 for close range around farm building, there the usal toys i take for pest control 223 177hmr both set up for night vision the22wmr is good long ish range for day bunnies fac scorpion is punks on squirrels and standard r10 is for the fethered and rats, I'm a man that as to have his toys, same in carping gear hand held gen1 night vision monocula is hand in fishing BeLeave it or not, so looks like a full playful weekend so after all done by Monday I shall take my so understanding Mrs out for dinner if I don't say out longer it's happens Mrs never looks happy when I roll up Wednesday I always so she needs a gold medal for putting up with my habits

That wasn't a traditional Bank Holiday, was it? It was on a Friday too.
I remember it well; we went for a walk with the little lad and we hadn't had him long.
I worked in the morning though because I had to pay for the Argos vouchers I got for William and Kate >:(.
I'll probably be out Monday morning too because of enforced time off in the next couple of weeks. Life gets in the way of window cleaning sometimes.
But I'm like you, Daz; it doesn't really bother me. Getting to work's the problem, not getting time off.
-

No not yet, a slightly large 38 year old on a chinese 125cc motorbike on cbt L plates 'getting his knee down ' isnt kinda the riding style i wish to inflict on the public right now. ;D
For the record i wear RST gear which is decent gear. Alpinestars are for the gixxer hooligans who think they are setting a track record every time they pop to Tescos.
Im more interested in Touring, will be looking out for a gsx 650f or a sprint st1050.
I will also be interested in doing track days, and paying for track tuition and will buy a bike specificly for that purpose, prob a 10 year old Daytona 675 which i will take off the road and use for track only.

Bank holidays are not the same when your self employed, any day can be a bank holiday if you want it to. I would prefer to work bank holidays if i could, as anywhere you want to go on a bank holiday is just overcrowded on that day anyway i prefer to go when kids are at school and most of joe public at work.

I can't think of anything worse than working a bank holiday cleaning residential windows.
Especially a hot one like this Monday.
Can you imagine loads of people will be at home, kids running round gardens splashing in pools and barbecues going on etc.
I would rather be skint ;D

I did a leisure centre this morning. Got there just after 7:00 and finished 3 hours later. I was going to do it bank holiday but thought feck it I'll get it out of the way. Doing residential on a hot sunny bank holiday seems a bit degrading imo.

Aye, good point. I might take all the schools' summer holidays off too.

If I work and I give you some blank tapes can you record 'Why Don't You' and 'The Banana Splits' for me?
If you can I'm going to run the risk of a paddling pool accident if I don't miss said programmes.

I am considering doing all of this (at 41 though, not 38)
How tall/ heavy are you? What Chinese bike do you have and how have you found it? I can’t decide wether to go straight to DAS or just do CBT and have some experience on a 125 for a year or two.

I am just under 6ft tall, around 98kg i could do with losing approx 5kg. ::)roll
I have a 2016 Lexmoto Venom 125cc. I bought it last year with 7k miles on it, i have done 3k miles on it and owned it for 10 months. Its been completely flawless, no problems at all with the bike, it will do 70mph eventually & is very cheap to run & insure it now has 10k miles on it and its still very nice to ride.
I was in exactly the same dillema as yourself last year. Unsure weather to go DAS or CBT first. However i looked at it this way, if you go straight into your DAS you still have to do your CBT and riding a motorcycle isnt just about keeping balanced. You need to master many skills very quickly, some find it second nature, but some dont, and freak out when they realise they need to counter-steer when at speed and its a bit of a head mess for a few and if you think about it too much it can freak anyone out. By the time you have got the skills needed in your head, your plonked on a bike with 10x the power & twice the weight, and the pressure really ramps up.
Then there is the theory test, you need to pass this and there are approx 600 questions and answers to get familiar with. And you need to book it and pass of course.
I found that doing my CBT and riding on L plates for while enabled me to get comfortable with riding. Every instructor and motorcyclist i have spoken to have agreed that to do CBT and ride a small bike for a while gives you a major riding experience advantage over those who throw a load of £ at it and do the DAS.
Plus i have made a few mistakes on my riding on cbt, and being a smaller, slower bike, overshooting corners and dealing with target fixation is easy to correct. On a bike that is 10x more powerful and 10x more responsive, the risks of overreaction and over correction are far higher, especially with little or no riding experience.
And i am able to build up my no claims. Doesnt matter if you have 20 years ncb on a car, bikes...its starting again.
-
Thanks for taking the time to answer mark. I am swaying towards a 125 for a year or so, am considering a lemoto. As for the theory, I passed it on Wednesday without revising or even looking at anything. It’s pretty much common sense, especially after being on the road for 24 years lol

Yes it is pretty much basic stuff on the theory. ;D
I can tell you now, having gone down the CBT route, and gaining some riding experience on a small bike 3000 miles worth in all weathers, that's important, I think is the best and the most effective way to become a much more accomplished rider in the long term. And i have had a lot of fun doing it. Also i found you have to make yourself go and ride, to become a better rider. Riding when you feel like it is ok, but riding when it is peeing down with rain & wind, or when you have a headache etc, it all helps you ride in mixed scenarios and you become prepared for whatever changes are thrown at you.
You'd expect, not being a biker before, to be laughed at wouldn't you turning up on your 125cc beltsander at biker meets etc.;D I tell you this though, from Harley Davidson guys, to street bobber types; from adventure cruiser guys, to jap racers not one of those fellas made me feel silly or insignificant on my Lexmoto 125 they always have time for me at the biker cafe for a chat and catch up on riding progress; it really is quite an incredible connection.
My advice is whist your on L plates on your 125cc. Do your learning then, go to car parks and practice your slow menovures, and keep doing it. 10 months or a year is not a long time to wait, and it is well worth it. Oh an put some decent tyre on your bike if you do go down the c****y route, the "nnoohnchang deathtread 10's" that come with these bikes are worse than the tyres you find on pushbikes, I spent around £140 on new pirreli rubber about a month into owning the bike, and it transformed the ride sooo much, just a tip there..

5litres of hypo, 15ltrs hot water, a splash of Ammonyx LO and a splash of scented oil (cherry).
No pressure washer used on this. After 20mins I used a large soft brush to sweep mix off and then I reapplied.
Im back in the same area tomorrow and im keen to get a final result shot for my website, as it will be dry
