For marketing that is.
Today is the first day of our leaflet campaign for this year.
We will be doing 600K this year. In the past we have done big drops of 100k then had a break. This time we will trying 30-40K each week, every week until mid September. I hope this will make it easier to cope with in the office as well as spreading the cost, about £70K
Our goal is get our last 2 vans out and top up the others. i want this to be our last year of this kind of growth rate, after this we will just maintain the same size each year until I open our second base in a few years time. We are aiming for aprox 1500 new customers this year, we only actually need 1200 on the database to hit the target. That will take our monthly turnover to about £65K
Good start today with 10 new on the board, we want about 12-15 a day to be on target.
Oh and before anyone says 1500 for a spend of £70K is bad that 1500 would be worth £228,000 a year which is actually a very good return.

Do you just post fliers Lee or do your staff door knock aswell? If you just post the fliers is this what you have always done or did you door knock in the beginning?
How long have you been going too?
Thanks

Good questions
We only do leaflets.
I have litterally done it all. We were even the first uk window cleaners to advertise on TV last year. I used to knock a lot years ago and was good at it. We cant make enough impact that way now as we cover the entire south east.
I have been going 14 years

It’s a good confidence boost of what can be achieved for people who don’t like to door knock

Awesome Lee Pryor
Imagine what you could do with 10 SoftWashing Vans

Yep. He was going to buy five vans and the supplier said "You want me to split a case for you?!?" and Lee said "tell you what I'll buy a case of ten if you throw in a couple of extras" and so they did.
True story that. ;)

Well done fella. ;D
I'm just about to break past my £51k ....a year. ::)roll :-[
I'm really having to be very choosy and specific on my canvassing until i can afford to plop someone in a van so i can go at it like an opened can of baked beans. I haven't really done any canvassing still. Just expanding exisitign rounds a little bit more, and a little bit more till i hit 60k, and then its all out for a big push to 80k and onwards.

We will spend about £25-£30k a year to stay at that size
-
Oh , that much is it , perhaps i better stick to one van and £25 to £30 on flyers then ;D ;D ;D
-
Its not really that much what talking about an £800k turnover. Also get the vat back on that amount and the rest off the corporation tax.
-
Yea , fair point , speculate to acumulate or whatever it is ;D

Nice one Lee
Is there VAT on flyers?
-
Nice one Lee, hope it goes to plan.
I am currently undergoing a similar advertising exercise (on a somewhat smaller scale) as I got bored one evening, so I thought I would design a leaflet with some prices on.
I shall be cherry picking the properties, and at worse, I'll get fit and lose a few pounds. ;D

Lee.
Will you be running another TV ad as part of your marketing this year?

Well done Lee keep going!
