I'm just telling my customers I'm putting their prices up by £x amount from April. So far they have all accepted it and I've had no one request a reason why....

Also I keep prices as whole £s rather than £s & pence. Just makes it easier...

Problem I have with the mobile bill increase is after a year the phone hasn't cost the company any more so they should only have the RPI increase based on the actual call, data and text element of the bill.
When it comes to window cleaning increases you might find that the RPI is lower than what you would have increased it by and if you tell the customers it's RPI each year then you could shoot yourself in the foot.

Why not follow the price rises the utilities companys burden us with, or Virgin Media?

Generally agree it's easier to  put up a customers  clean by £1 or £2
However, if they are online payers or go cardless, there's no reason not to maybe put up by smaller amounts annually.....
Then you benefit each year in a small amount rather than leaving the rises far too long, which I think most of us are guilty of.

Good luck with the 4.1% calculations.
