A short whike ago, someone posted a link to a chap who spent over five mins doing a clean on one window. He used both trad n wfp.
But is this a thing!?
(its 2am insomnia blues) stuck watching you tube vids and ive watched a number of vids by 'the trad man' but came across this

That makes a welcome change from watching the splash and dash merchants who haven't a clue, that said if customers demanded spot and run free glass then we would all be in trouble so its way over the top and not needed.
-
he does a very good job.good luck to him.....
-
Watched some of the video with volume off, couldn't be bothered listening to waffle and it's fecking rediculous cleaning windows like that. First cleans just go back round the glass once you've done the house and that way you reduce the runs from the frames. Simples.

Yes he does, but....
He made me chuckle when he said about leaving drip time when hes going up to wipe over them and clean them again anyway.
Its just a little over kill doing both thats all.
I also suppose its personal preference n all. But hes modified a squeegee down to 6inchs which im sure is fine for some real small windows. But on the vids which ive seen so far he would be quicker with a 12 or 14inch instead.

I think the bloke is great but every job is overkill I’ve got a cleaner near me exactly the same WFP and traditional,he’s more interested in doing that kind of a job rather than earning decent money. I’ve said to him in the past your wasting your time pal people want there windows cleaning they are not bothered about every little bit of microscopic dirt. I reckon he’s losing hundreds a week working in that way,I think it’s more like OCD on his part not the customers.

The customer will Be over the moon with the results I’m Sure.
I doubt he is charging enough to really
Cover his time there, but Mayb he is?
For me, I would just put some virosol on the windows first, thorough scrub and rinse of everything, and then go back over glass only.
It would be just as good, and arguably better, as the windows will Stay cleaner for longer rather than having a lot of soap residue left.
Definitely Overkill in my opinion too.

No need. do it wfp or trad not both. does he charge for 1 wfp clean then 1 trad clean. ;D

The guy in the video reminds me of me!
I'm 100% trad, and have thought about going wfp on a few occasions, but I know I would be just like him if I did change over.
NWH mentions the guy local to him, and makes the point about doing a good job being more important than making decent money.
I am like this myself! I make ok money, but I am more driven by doing a quality job over how much money I can make. I know I'm nuts, but there it is!

Anyone who films, commentates, edits and adds soundtrack to videos of themselves window cleaning needs to get a girlfriend.

Especially if they wear a blue-tooth phone piece in their ear at the same time.

He’s got a wife!
Trad girl. She works with him too and makes videos with him.
There’s worse hobby’s you could have. I’ve never understood stamp collecting.

customers are not going to get a ladder out & inspect every single window & frame.

It is a mind set, and yours is that wfp doesnt do a quality job. In essence what youve just said (but not intentially im sure). That us wfp are more concerned at making money rather than a quality clean. Whereas the opposite is true, we do a great job but its faster than trad which enables us to make good money 😁😁😂

If I was to start getting lots of complaints I would stop and evaluate but as I’m not I crack on and work as quick as I’m able to clean without killling myself, overthinking and being anal about quality will lead to paranoia where it’s just not needed,if your not getting complaints you are doing something right imo.

Exactly, you wont beat traditional methods if you want perfection fortunately we don't need it.

It's easy to do too much when first starting out and overclean.
But once busy you should be pushing the boundaries of just doing enough to not get sacked so that you are as fast as possible.
It's all about the ££££

Thing is with wfp is you turn up to clean the windows after four weeks and then start thinking has someone just cleaned them! I then start looking for some trace of dirt just to make sure they haven't jumped ship.

Your gonna need to explain that to me mate?
I wfp everything now, bungalows, ground floor flats, the lot.
I firmly believe it does a quality job, I was just explaining my “first clean” procedure, on filthy windows that hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. That’s what trad mans video was also.

This guy should be banned from making video's like this, if my customer's saw this they may start thinking I'm only doing a half job.
Seriously though you only need a wfp and that's the fact of the matter, even if you want to be a perfectionist all you need is a pole and a brush.
It actually annoys me just watching this bulluck's.
