Title: Microfiber cloths
Post by: Flash.. on February 08, 2018, 05:43:57 pm
I have been using Unger 80x60  microfiber cloths and need some new ones.  Are the Unger ones best I like the look of the Facelift ones just for a change has anyone used them, or any other recomendations for sills and blading?

i think some window cleaners rate the blue paragon fishscale microfibres.....ive always used the large unger microwipes too but TBH i prefer unger grade A pre washed scrim for the tiny amount of trad that i still do.....for sills i just use cheap pound shop "towelling" microfibres....

The ones with the scrubbing corners are pretty much the same thing just unger are grey and the facelift are red.

Paragon do the same size as Unger  for almost no money if I remember correctly they are 65 pence each if buying 50+ and are easily as good as unger

The fish scale ones can not be beaten for inside work

The Kirkland (terry weave) microfibres are very good at absorbing water. I realise most use cloths for internal work- so less water- but these are very plush and absorbent. Maybe not the best for detailing work because of their thickness but if you need something to soak up water these are great. Perhaps use with a flat weave microfibre?
I'll put a link up when I get time  :P.

I prefer the large smooth ones myself as you don't have loose threads catching on the joints of stuck-on lead.  They cost a lot more but I find them far better to work with.  Not that I buy such things very often as a WFP user.
