Title: To all those who run their hose through the van floor...Advice Needed Please
Post by: Dazzler3370 on February 06, 2018, 04:52:11 pm
Afternoon Gents,

In Preparation for my new van coming in March. Im planning my new set up.

Firstly I will be using a new electric reel, it will either be a Pure Freedom or the Grippa Tank version.

Im planning on running my hose through the van floor, but I would like to know the best way to do it and the pros and cons to it.

 1. How high does the Reels require to be from the van floor to reduce friction.

2. Whats the best method to do this, i.e. which product to buy.

3. Which Roller system to buy and what angle is it best to set it at.

4. How good is the actual system, i.e. is it not to awkward bending down trying to feed the hose through the guides all the time

5. Do I need another leisure battery and a larger spilt relay.

6. Any other tips and advice really appreciated

Cheers

Grippatank sell the rollers and I think they show pictures on there site , I have my hose reels fixed about chest height as this saves bending over when reeling in , not sure what you mean about angle ? Hose goes through the floor then 90 degrees out under the bumper .
Personally we we don’t reel the end of the hose into the van I have a hose that returnes the water to the tank mounted under the bumper that the rectus fitting connects to so it stays under the bumper , the system does work well but does take more effort pulling hose out and reeling in than a freestanding reel due to it going through the 90 degree angle
