The last bargain I found was a vac which turned out to be something wrong with the listing so bear that in mind. Anyway I came across this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/16L-Garden-Backpack-Pressure-Sprayer-Knapsack-Weed-Chemical-Weedkiller-4-Nozzle/152894659820?_trkparms=aid%3D555019%26algo%3DPL.BANDIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20151005190540%26meid%3D75033532ddf941a09fec2977c8889697%26pid%3D100505%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26%26itm%3D152894659820&_trksid=p2045573.c100505.m3226

looks good to me
a few years back you could get a gardiner backpack ( branded differently ) for £45 as opposed to there £90 alex was selling them for - they are still going strong but the seller has since up'ed the price
personally i'd buy one or two before they realise they could make a lot more money per item !!

Made an offer for 2 @ £20 each plus postage!
-
Even if you found the pump not beefy enough for our needs you could upgrade the pump for a tenner.
I got myself a nice little 12ltr jobbie last year but paid a good deal more than that. I'd go for it otherwise
-
I've got two Gardiner backpacks, one needs a new filter and the other needs a new pump and both the handles have the issue with the handle/lid falling off when picking it up (older style) so buying them that cheap would save me trying to fix them.
-
Bayersan and the Full Clean Centre sell the same backpack for over £100 :o.
-
Australian charger how do you charge it.?
-
I asked the question this morning but yet to hear back. I've cancelled the best offer and requested two but they'll need to include a converter.
-
Can you just buy an Australian adapter ? Bought an eu adapter only yesterday for a trip this weekend and saw them in store.
-
might just have to take battery out to charge in another backpack or charge with battery charger. bit of PITA but for 35 quid its not bad.
-
I've not checked what voltage these aboriginals use but you could probably just fit a new plug.

Yeah that's what I was thinking.

Australian charger how do you charge it.?
I bought 2 of these for £40.
They came with a normal uk 3 pin plug.
I bought them a month ago but only this evening put 1 on charge.
The only thing I've found is the charging plug (kettle type end) is lose.
-
Paid £62 for two of them and they message back confirming that they have three pin plugs. Needless to say they sold out yesterday.

What diameter is the hose for fitting the connector.

5mm inside diameter I think.
Rectus fitting straight in.

cheeky b****** has put them up to £38 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/16L-4-Nozzle-Agro-Knapsack-Sprayer-Farm-Garden-Agricultural-Plant-Backpack-New/152897267373?hash=item23996326ad:g:HJwAAOSwtBdaerK0

This is about all these back packs are worth!
Had a couple now and they don't live much longer than a year.
The chargers are cheap rubbish also.
Back packs are useful while they last.
Keep meaning to rebuild one out of all the spares I have.
Make it so it works with a good reliable charger, think my charger is called c tek?
Losing my marbles' ::)roll
-
I thought the Gardiner ones were good and they had a lot of use when I started out. One needed sent back for repair and one charger needed replaced which was no problem, but if these ebay ones go wrong it'll not be hassle free getting it sorted.
It would be good to rebuild one with a chemical resistant filter an everflo chemical pump and as said a better charger.

Didn't think it would have arrived so quick. The power functions are different so it's powered on by the flow control to your set speed and you need to turn it right down to power off or with the flow control turned off the rocker switch will turn it to full power. Charger needs a good hard push to connect it properly or the kobold charger fits easier.
Ordered some couplings from ebay to use with it, seem just like any other but cost less for buying the three pack and sent from Pitlochry! Lovely wee town but it's in the middle of the wilderness.
And the filter isn't metal which is good if using some chems.

It's usually the pump that's crap on these.....not a good flow or pressure..
-
buy cheap buy twice...some of you are right cheapskates... ;D
its often false economy........at least with gardiners you get a warranty and great customer service....
-
Back packs (2) I've had one was Gardiners, other wcw.
Maybe it's me Daz but thought charger's were poor quality, had another sent from Gardiners no problem.(charger).
But just think back packs are not up too much.

That's why I bought two! :) If one works well then I can sell the other if it's in my road. But to be honest I don't see any difference between backpacks, there all made the same way.

Isn't it easier just to make your own pump box and fit it to a trolley and away you go. Most of you stick your backpack on a trolley anyway, so why not go the full distance.
Electrical box, small 3 amp pump, 7ah battery, pulse width modulator, voltmeter and a on/off switch.
Easy to repair or replace any parts and simply secure onto a trolley of your choosing. Make it as simple or as complicated as you want
-
I've done that before with a sureflo and varistream but I found the air lock a pain, I mainly used for the tank but I could stick it on a barra as well.
The backpacks don't have the air lock issue and with this one I'll just carry it around as it's only 16l and it's got a better handle. It's to make the odd job easier but for talking sake if I were to get someone out again I'd stick them in a street with the backpack and drop off containers every few houses.
