just an up date on the employment front just thought I would let you all know I had a couple of offers on a job site but the wage were not all that good I am not being picky but one firm wanted me to use my own van with a small allowance for diesel and I had to use my own system
-
Nothing wrong in being picky.
-
Someone once rang me and offered me a job on minimum wage plus £20 a day allowance to use my own fuel/van/system/insurance etc.
Was someone off here, I declined it too :'(
Cheeky bugger

You know what..it angers me to think that someone who owns a business, and knows how hard it is to charge the correct money and do a good job, thinks its acceptable to shaft the staff by giving pay that takes advantage.
Harlyman i would offer you a job, but im not at my 80k target yet. And im down here in Surrey so its a bit far for you.
Id be looking to pay someone 30-35k a year for a full time job.

thanks for that, I have been on a few job sites and spoken to a company gave them cv plus proof of my own business and what I could do and sent the flyers I use but still offered minimum wage .but ill keep chipping a way if things get desperate I will try and start again but keep it small this time

That'll be yourself on Gumtree then? What about the work advertised in Bridge of Weir it's just along the motorway.

I would have thought £20 for your own gear would be ok but minimum wage is for inexperienced workers.
