Title: custards trying it on !
Post by: tomh on June 18, 2006, 11:58:36 pm
“My cleaning is intended to be the most thorough you have ever seen
or I will clean it again for FREE. If you are still not pleased for any reason,
then I will refund ALL your money. I stake my name and reputation on it.
Ian Gourlay”

I was thinking of doing something along the same lines.
Do you get any people trying it on? As I`m sure we have all met them.
Cheers.
Rab.

Hi Rab,

I think most cleaners have a policy similar or the same as Ians myself included. Touch wood I haven't been called back or encountered a problem after doing a job.

I make sure to justify any possible problems (set stains, wear and tear, badly fitted / already damaged carpets etc.) before I start and as long as the customer is happy I proceed. If not then I walk away!

Our customers are the same as me and you when we pay someone to do a job for us, as long as we get what we've agreed then no problem, if not then there would be!

I don't think there aren't many people out there that 'try it on'. I have heard of a few cleaners coming unstuck but they're very few and far between. Just be sure to advise of any possible problems. As always, if in doubt, walk out ;D

Kind regards,
Jason.

This slogan is used all over the World,

I believe JIm Wolverson was the person who origionally pened it.

All you a really doing is giving people their statuary rites.

In the UK Paul Gorman also suggests a Satisfaction Guarantee including your Money Back.

When I first studied Marketing that was one of the First concepts I learnt and that was when England won the WORLD CUP.

I spent 25 years in the Retail Trade we always had a Satisfaction Guarantee.

Marks and Spencer used to have a no quible Guarantee but I think George Davies may have changed that,

SO WHY I CHANGE a habit of a lifetime dealing with the public

Ian, good point. Although I would never use it, it is still a good point. Best, Dave.
