Title: Gutter inspection camera
Post by: S_RICHARDSON on December 17, 2017, 08:01:20 pm
Hi guys
Can anyone recommend a low budget wireless camera and screen. For inspecting gutters before and during clearing them.

I don't particularly want to use my phone so a screen I could clip to the gutter pole would be ideal.
Thanks

Hi Mate

I bought a go pro one previously but works through wifi to phone and battery on camera is shocking bad , after 15/20 mins it would be giving up and wifi would also be coming and going between phone and camera so i cannot recommend go pro but some guys on here swear by them.

I bought a camera and monitor off mark from spinaclean last week which i will be trying out tomorrow. It was £150

It was a bit low-tech, but when I cleaned gutters I had digging tool and motorcycle rear-view mirror on the end of a pole. It was a bit on the heavy side, but it did the trick for knowing what I was doing.

Hi mate,
Thats my problem. I don't want to start buying cameras to realise they are no good. I don't mind paying a little more to get something that works and will last.

Yeah I tried that to start off with. Only works upto 1st storey work.

Thanks though.

We got a system from Spacevac which included camera and monitor.

Spacevac's website has been down for a good while but they have a telephone number. It will also appear they have a facebook presence.

Its the same camera as with this ebay supplier although our monitor has a larger screen. The monitor clips onto the pole so you can work watching the monitor.  Some of us will find this a little difficult as I did to begin with, but you will get better as you get a bit of practice.

It seems to work ok. At first we had an issue with battery power but it doesn't seem to be an issue now. We have done two cleans, both houses with conservatories, on the same charge. As with these things, you have to get a move on.

Is any using the SJ4000 type camera that's for sale on Ebay?
