Hi all , Iv bought a new pump and controller and it keeps pulsing when in use.
Iv calibrated the controller, but when the water comes out the brush it’s starts of really slow then speeds up to normal then after a few minutes it slows to a dribble for a second then back to normal and repeat!
Any ideas please?
Cheers in advance 👍

What pump and controller are you using?
My first thought was calibration needed, but I see you've already tried that.
Second thing I would check is all electrical connections and battery charge.
-
Cheers Andy , it’s the genie in a box from window cleaning warehouse.

Iv calibrated it a few times and it sorts it out for a while then goes back to being awkward again. ???

Definately give your battery a good bench charge if you haven't already and double check connections if still no joy.
-
When you say you have calibrated it what speed setting controller was on? Digital ones should be calibrated at 30 nothing else. If you were doing this at different settings this could explain the problems you are having.

It was on charge last night from about 8:30pm til 7am this morning, cheers il check connections

Yep it was 30 , I always forget how to do it so I watch the spring controllers video on youtube beforehand.
-
Maybe It’s something to do with my water being so cold in the tank ?
I opened the lid yesterday after not moving for 2 days and I had to break through a layer of ice!
-
Do you get PS or DE light when this happens on controller? Sometimes corroded connection can throw ps light on controller. What's the voltage reading on your battery?

I would calibrate at the flow rate you will be using otherwise this can cause the false dead ends. It's happened to me.
Or try auto calibrate & then manually increase by say 5.
If you've got ice in the tank then maybe it's in the hose/pipework.

Not too sure , I switch it off and go back to the van and it’s DE as normal- il check tomorrow, cheers

i reckon your battery is on the way out

I bought a new battery with the pump box , I fully charged it and it was reading 13.3 this morning
-
ramp up the cal to 55,check all connections and run the pump on 99 for a bit and see if that helps
-
I would say it's the battery, try swapping with another one and see what happens,

I have had this more than a few times , once it was a done in battery , once it was a slight kink in the hose way back on the reel , i unwound it all off let it pressure up and it sorted itself out , once it was blocked strainers and once it was due to using hoselocs with the built in waterstops , i knocked them out and all was good .
Just a few things to look at before you buy a battery or rip the wiring out !

Excellent! I did actually buy those hozelock waterstop attachments! Could be those

How do you knock the water stops out?

That's been a problem for me in the past. Now we don't have one on the van with a stop.

Have you tried to bypass the controller and connect power straight to pump
-
Iv changed to normal connectors so il see how I get on today , cheers everyone 👍

Good luck.
I was gonna say battery but sounds ok from your readings.
I've had a battery in the past and it was dud even with all the charging I could give it.
Now I just use Halfords car batteries 😁
Done leisure batteries not impressed

So after changing the connectors , the 1st job was fine and then played up a bit on the 2nd job and then it was fine after that. Only thing that’s doing my head in a bit is the leaky connectors now. Maybe I need to wrap some ptfe tap around the hoselock threads

Hi Shrek the pulsing is because the calibration is slighty to low for the flow rate and the pump is dropping in out of DE. Good news is the answer. Either manually increase the calibration by a value of 10 Or when you auto cal in step one set the flow rate to the one you want to use ( EG 50 ) We only use the value 30 to give an indication of step one it does not have to be 30.
For some long winded answers just in case your bored :)
