Wonder if anyone can help. Got a pump box with a shurflo pump. About 5 years old. When I switch it on can hear the pumping working but won't pump the water through. Pheraps it's just wore out. Any ideas.

Could it be possible just to have air locked.
-
Sounds like an air lock to me too.
Would also check and clean the pump strainer if you have one.

Thanks for the replys. Don't think it's an air lock as connected a spare pump board to water supply and the pumps ok. Strainer clear. Could it just the age of the pump and is knackerered

I had the same .4wires from pump one was loose or corroded once I re attached it it was good

If u can hear the pump running an no water then it's defo getting power, it will be air lock u need to prime the pump again.
This happened to me today whilst working I ran out of water filled up an nothing coming out of brush. Had a little mess with the hose feeding the pump ( well moved it up and down a bit ) and u hear the water being sucked into the pump and it makes more of a noise as it starts taking the water

I get this sometimes.
It's usually resolved by disconnecting the pump outlet for a few seconds until water comes out. It's fine then. Hopefully you have a quick release connector of some sort if you need to try this.

Happened to me today , the water just stopped yet I had water in the tank - went to the van and could see the air lock , so I turned it on & off a few times and connected / disconnected the pipes a few times and then it was fine

Many thanks for all the replys appreciated

Could be airlocked or could be old and knackered, usually the diaphragm goes.
But if it was just getting old and failing you would have likely seen a drip in performance before it stopped.
Easy to check an air lock, try that first

Or check for burnt or corroded wires and connections. It could be reducing the power. Similar happened with my softwash pump, srtipped the affected wires off and reconnected the pump and could hear the difference straight away.

took it out the van last night and connected in the garage with a barrel of water started working. so may have just needed priming thanks for all the replys
