Some custys who you invest a bit of time in throughout the year, then give you nothing at Christmas....dump them?  ;D

I’m doing ok so far, seems to come where you least expect it, the terraced house is a lot more generous than the detached house!

£5 so far - a £3 and a £2.

Don't think I've ever had much more than £100 in a season and don't think I've had much less than £90 either.

I'm getting around £50 in tips a week on average, yesterday about £30 alone.  Either i am doing something right or y'all are doing something wrong lol  ;D ;D

Had about half a dozen crimbo cards already given too me too.  Need to find somewhere to put them.  Anyone got ideas.  Maybe i could use them for the log burner :D

Ive not tried it myself,  but one dayi will.
A friend i know,  when trad working  as well would buy a bottle of wine and a wine box carrier for it. One if those carriers where you can put more bottles in and pretend or let others think that a customer gave it to him.   Clever, really because it worked amazingly well for him

Lot less than in the old days but I don't mind as we spend a lot less time collecting due to electronic payments I only collect one evening and one Saturday per month now, saving time and diesel. The majority of my customers are out when we clean so rarely see them anyway . If any customers do offer a tip this is given to my daughter who works with me. When I wish my customers a merry Christmas I mean it, it's not said in hope of getting a tip ;D

I'm always surprised  by the on line tip, I wonder if they must think "Will he notice the extra amount"

I take a shopping trolley, not the deep one, the one you use when you need a few bits. I tell them I'm collecting food and booze for the homeless. Works well.

Ok.

I shall expand for you sir.

First one no answer to open up round back even though she knew I was coming. No answer last time either so was skipped. After I had got gear out rung bell and knocked a few times, waited 5 mins and put all my gear back in van she came dashing out with a bin bag straight past me to bin lorry. Straight back past me into the house and door closed. Time waster so dumped.

Second on was a first clean that I had quoted online, got there and no where to park as it was a terraced house down an awkward street, back access was through a neighbour's garden which was full of dog poop. So that never happened as too awkward for me.

I have gained quite a lot of customers via facebook, and most of them are fine.

That said, I would have dropped the 2 that Adam Thompson described like a stone.

First  one was a canvassed customer. Second a FB, but wasn't really her fault 2nd one was mine for not checking.

Messer's come from all over. I have far more issues with canvassed work that I do FB or leaflets.

Probably just over £200. And a bottle of wine.

One job we did for a customer was £450, and she gave an extra £50, which was nice.

Most customers are DD and not in when we clean so less than it used to be.

Im around the £15.00 mark. Thing is I've been one property for the last 7 working days, so that's that really, no way of getting anything from other customers. When I get back to work after Christmas I'll be about a month behind.  ??? ???

When I went WFP it coincided with me starting to take online payments. It was the combination of the two that but the brakes on any tips. I used to get about £300. Now Im lucky to get £50.00.

Ive, a tip............
......keep youre tips in a safe place.
About 3 weeks ago I started putting aside in an envelope on top of some paperwork . Boss decided she'd have a tidy up and threw out the envelope with 25 in it.
We moved a week ago out to the sticks ( well for us anyway ). I started to stash my tips in a little box . The boss was on annual leave and being as disorganised as usual had no cash for a bus to go Xmas shopping, turns the place upside down looking for my stash, finds it, subsequently spent .
Lesson learnt my tips now stay safely in my pocket !
Total will be down this year, not only because of that but a house move just before Xmas. I needed time off and  I'm behind now but really don't care , its no longer about money but my sanity. ;)

Well. Final day today added £18.50. £102.50 in total plus a bottle of plonk. So once again about £100 which it seems to be every single year.

Edited to add ... Nearly all tips are cash but I did get a cheque sent rounded up by £8 and another at the door rounded up by £6. Never get any on line payments made higher though.
