Now that I have my customers email addresses due to go cardless, i am going to send them an email stating that I am applying a £3 tip on their behalf onto the december clean. If they would rather not, then to contact me before their clean.

I doubt any would want to admit to being tight and therefore not contact me and I'm guessing the others wont even check their emails anyway. Or have them sent to spam. Either way, they cant deny that I sort permission first. Win win

I think if you take that out of their accounts that’ll be viewed as deception or theft. Telling someone you’re going to commit a crime before you do doesn’t make it legal.

Assume that’s a joke? Otherwise you sound very desperate.

Can't believe I've just read that Nathan  ;)

You are either insane  :o or taking the pee  ;)

I know what my response would be if I were a custy, and it wouldn't be pleasant.

Im too soft.

Just had to hand some tip money back. Just did a £25 job and the customer pays me in cash a twenty and pound coins.

She then slips me a tenner for tip. A tenner? Thats far too much nearly 50% tip i said....no no

Here have 5 back. Even £5 is still far too much love...

Bless her.

Customers dont willy nilly hand tips out. They do actually think about it first or at least tbe majority do. So i dont refuse their kind gesture as it shows how they value your service

my dad always insists on paying for everyone when we go out for a meal on his birthday.seems daft but he gets pleasure out of it so we let him.

sometimes you have to let people be generous to you.remember THEY WANT TO!AND IT MAKES THEM FEEL GOOD!

In the early years, when we were the 'new window cleaners',  we received tips, but over the years these have declined.  Newer customers tend to tip, but not our older ones.

Like an auld pair of slippers, we're just taken for granted. :'(

The tips are coming in, along with the bottles of red wine.
I need to prep my custies for next year...I like a sherry at Christmas!  ;D
I have a sweet tooth...

It'd be worth 3 quid to not to have to read all the email!

Yes, recorded daily for the last 4 weeks of the run up.
I also think it's sad, but the taxman doesn't. Unfortunately.
