Title: prices again (i know,,,,yawn yawn!)
Post by: nathankaye on November 02, 2017, 10:47:49 am
(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1509618832_Screenshot_2017-11-02-10-21-42.png)

So i was just setting up ready to work in this small cul de sac and 2 gents walk in with ladders on shoulders n bucket in hand. So as you do, i made small talk with them.

The older chap has been in area 25yrs (hes in early 50's ild say) and was asking about my wfp set up. Told him ive been here over 15yrs and last 2 on wfp and was saying about how better it was. He pipes up that his son has gone wfp in rotherham and said how prices need to be higher with wfp.
I kinda implied that ladder work should be high prices as well as its harder.
(I clean the house in the photo and these 2 clean the one on the left)
Using this house as reference he says that his son would charge £8 now for these houses. (Only 3 windows at rear) implying that he feels that this would be too high!
He asked how much i charged but i skirted around the question. But then he was saying how customers dont want to pay the prices.....
I didnt have the heart to tell him that these small houses pay me £10 a go!!

But it gives confidence in pricing as this chap has been around a whole lot longer than me in the area. On face value he charges a pittance or from his comments im guessing not great prices. Yet people are prepared to pay to get a good job done.

£12-15 for me, but then I’m south east.

If there’s only 3 at the back then £12 if I had others in the same street, otherwise £15.

I'm in the south-east. As a new job, I would quote £14 - but I do plenty like that already for a bit less.

Your just lacking confidence, Nathan took a 15 year course on confidence and pomposity, I'm sure if you ask him he would tell you who it was with. lol.

If he's been in the area 25 years and you for 15 years; how come you never met before?

I work every 4 weeks but not to the same day or time. In that small cul de sac I clean 3 houses and they said that they clean 3  as well. Im probably there for no more than half hour. So theres way too many variables and Im no mathematician but the probability has to be smaller than what you would expect.

His jaw hit the floor when he found out how much the one off clean was.
The house which was a one off clean, (as moving out) used to employ UK window cleaners........with their enticing free first clean offer but its funny how ive not seen them about for quite a while now.

So the windows n frames weren't that dirty and so it was a very easy £20 bonus 😆

So you clean that one and the two others in the area, they also have three, in 15 years your paths have never crossed,
you didn't tell them what you charge but their jaws dropped when they found out, plus its now went from a tenner to a twenty
quid one off, how many pints did you have with that Toby's Nathan ?

I do a couple of 3 storey jobs in a small estate...been doing them around 18 months and seen no other w/c.
Last 2 cleans seen same w/c both times and both times cleaning same house...what a coincidence....nice lad as well...wfp van mount and charges exactly the same price as me....he does 3 in there and says a w/c from Barnsley, about 20 miles away, does the majority.

Think you need your meds again mate. Once you've calmed down and stopped looking negatively at posts you may learn to read correctly!!

Lets start from begining shall we n go really sl....ow   so you don't get lost shall we

I clean 3 houses and they clean 3 houses.
We talked prices in relation to him thinking ones have to charge more when on wfp.
The house in the picture was a point of reference he used.  By his reckoning £8 is alot to charge for that house.

You following ok at this point sean!!!??? (Just checking)

No i didnt tell him how much i charged for doing those 3 houses.

My next comments are seperate and that i was cleaning a fourth house. A completely seperate house but within the cul de sac still. This fourth house is a one off clean as they were moving out!
(Ive not lost you have i sean........do u need a breather??😉)

Obviously reading between lines our conversation (thats me, him and his helper incase ur wondering who im talking about) continued and yes i mentioned that this one off clean  // seperate to the 3 i clean, was £20.

Once youve got your head around it mate, dont worry about apologising for your hot air comments.......i forgive your negative ways.   On the plus side buddy you make me feel great cause truth be told...i could be you but im not. Now thats something to be thankful about

I know you're no mathematician Nathan, but surely even you can work out that at your rate of 15 in an hour you're cleaning only 3 in half an hour. Multiply the 3 by 2 and that gives you 6 in an hour.  How do you fit in another 9 houses in that hour? 🤥

So in these areas where it's £8, £10, £12, £15 and £28 how much is it for a hair cut. Nothing fancy just your average short back and sides?

It's free. I do my own with a £15 trimmer I bought years ago (I have a no.1 so it's easy).

My hair cut here is £12
Ive gone through more shovels than hot dinners 😂😂

However i do tire of peoples stupidity on the 15 houses or however much it was now. Go back to the vid and re watch and go back to the original threads and try actually reading it.
Then you will read that;
1. This is the only round i can do it on.
2.  It explains why it can be done
3. You can see how small the houses are
4.  Bet even yourselves could manage it

But you want to live in a little bubble that if youve tried and failed. Then no one else can achieve what you cant. So if you want to limit your mind and ability than continue doing just so 👍

Yet i also clean other houses that take 30minutes and one that takes 45 minutes. That really screws the figures up doesnt it Bungle!!

You guys and your limited thinking really need to stop posting without your minds intact.
