Title: can you extend an slx 27?
Post by: paul alan on October 27, 2017, 08:05:07 pm
If I remember right when I spoke to gardiners team they told me that you cant put an extension on an slx 27.

Does anyone know of a way to do this?

I have like maybe two windows on my round now where I need the extra reach but obviously don't want to spend on a bigger pole for them couple of windows, my poles not that old as it is.

not 100% sure but there are 3 separate 4ft extensions for the clx http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/all-products/water-fed-poles/pole-specifications.html top of page.

I don't see why you can't just add the extra no. 7 section?

Says here you can: http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/all-products/water-fed-poles/extension-sections-for-telescopic-poles/slx-extension-section-7.html

Email Alex to be sure if you want. Gonna cost you £100 though just for a couple of windows.

here you go, got you down to £60 just bump the price up £2 and you'll get your money back in about 2 1/2 years  ;D http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/all-products/water-fed-poles/extension-sections-for-telescopic-poles/clx-extension-section-7.html

cheers, but I doubt the clx will be compatible with the slx. probably a cheaper option if so though.

Thank si, I'm sure it'll pay for itself in time!

1 of the jobs in question will be put up by a fiver and a couple of quid on the other, then ill probably get some more work for it.

It is a pain adding sections. You are better eventually buying a longer pole for the higher jobs.

[/quote]I use clx ext 6&7 on an slx 22 as it was cheaper. If the slx27 is the same diameter as the slx25 then ext7 should fit.

Just checked the site, the clx ext7 will fit. The 25ft with ext6 is same diameter as the 27ft. Got them mixed up before.

cheers Alan I may just do that as I doubt there will be much difference in flex on the last section.

You can interchange most of the Gardiner poles , just look at the handle diameters and get the next section up .
I was in the same boat , i was taking a clx 27 and an slx 18 to work , all i do now is take the 2 bottom sections of the 27 and put them on the 18 when needed , it used to be a bit of a pain when i used full pole hose but now i run tubeless its a doddle , probably the best change i think yo can make with regard to coiling hoses after every job , and the rectus stays good for donkeys .
