does it smell of wee and are they asking you to be able to rid the smell?
-
Yes and yes one area, in particular, is bad
-
Normally you'll find they have been cleaning it themselves for a long time with something like a Rotowash and now think by hiring someone they will magically get rid of the smell.
Truth is its in the backing & underlay and you won't rid the smell - so if your being hired on the basis of getting the carpet not to smell anymore proceed with caution.
-
doing the job is no problem its the rams im having problems with
-
Also the job method statement and risk assesment, its not just getting a template and filling in the blanks, if things go wrong, its about competent trades people, doing a job, and also have been trained to complete a risk assesment and job statement, and have certificates to prove.
There is some good products out there, to clean and help with the smells.

not a lot of help on this forum then and I am fully qualified also a woolsafe service provider just not done any commercial yet
-
you'll get more help later when more people are home - i wouldn't start moaning of no help already cos then you really won't get any!
there are good products for smells but if its penetrated the carpet into the underlay nothing will get rid of it - you can't without ridding the source of the smell
being Woolsafe has nothing to do with it - i am just trying to make sure you understand what you are taking on and make sure you manage the customers expectations, if you agree to the job on the basis their nursing home won't smell of pee anymore then that maybe a recipe for non payment of invoice

RAMS for a simple job take about 2 hours to complete properly, you dont supply them at the quote stage, just when you have the job booked.
-
all i want is some advice on rams nothing else sorry if that hurts
-
Firstly you shouldn't use the term 'rams' - if anything it should be - 'msra'. Your method statement should be created before you can do a risk assessment.
You can download templates for specifically carpet cleaning from the Internet - however no two jobs are ever the same.
Not sure what help you are expecting - only you will know what the job would involve.
Firstly decide how you are going to clean the place - and write that down in detail including what you are using. Then look at the risk side. Establish all the risks no matter how trivial you might consider them and then note how you are going to negate them or minimise them. Most of it is just plain common sense.
99% of the time the client will just file them without even bothering to look at even the first line you have written.
It's only when you have turned their white carpets puce green or caused a nursing home resident to break their leg by tripping over your trailing hoses that these things come into their own

Can't remember last time any commercial asked me for method statements or risk assessments.....they just want you in done and out again with minimal fuss.

If you google Carpet cleaning risk assesment & carpet cleaning method statement, you can purchase them for usually between £2 each to about £10, or if not google then press images, and you will usually find a template on there to addapt, hope this helps
