Title: Bent my Van
Post by: jonboywalton75 on August 09, 2017, 08:01:19 pm
Backed into a wall a couple of weeks ago in my lovely transit custom
£1000 ish damage
Adrian Flux were very efficient, got a Mercedes Vito to keep me going this week while it's repaired.
Wow, do I want my tranny back
The Merc is uncomfortable and built of tin.
It moves about a lot with a tank full of water and doesn't pull as well as the tranny. Handles badly when full as well.
I've earned my money this week so all is good, but I  really appreciate my tranny now.
Another downside is the £300 excess, oh well!!!

Tranny sounds nice, shame it doesnt have rearview mirrors!

My own fault, I was doing a reverse bump start as I'd drained my battery by running the blower and lights while stationery.
That's one downside of the tranny, lots of electrics, but a weak battery

£1000's worth???

How bad did you hit the wall?!

I scratched my bumper the second week I had mine, reverse sensors didn't pick up a plant pot (and I'd become too reliant on them!!)
Can't remember how much it cost to sort though, was only a respray though,  wasn't alot

(Might be worth upgrading to duel batteries if you might run out of juice alot, although the OEM battery is reknowned for being crap. I've also put LED bulbs in the back and intend on putting inline switches in the back when I can be bothered)

Bad, smashed the rear light cluster, bent the rear door and deeply gouged two panels

you can turn your lights off mate(pull the left hand indicator stalk once towards you and you ll hear a beep, pull it again and itll turn em off when stationary) ;)

hope you get it sorted Jon soon.  I've had mine for just over a year and last week the day before having the van a year, i reversed into a parked car.....  Thankfully no damage at all somehow, just 1 little scratch which is hardly even noticable!  Love my Custom hope i dont bash it in any time soon

Getting it back on Monday Josh
I'm just a senile old git that thinks he can go rushing about like I used to when I was 30 ;D
