l still have a new(ish) 650ltr framed tank to go in the van which l may end up putting in myself.
With a lot of mention on here about changing set-ups in van and making things easier day to day I'm going to re-do my setup when l do eventually get the tank in, l get bored easy and want a new project.
Here's my van is it is now, all DIY obviously !
Will start thinking of how l can make it easier for use.
How do you all have your vans in the back?

Is that tank held down by anything? I can't see.

yes its got 4 load straps rated at around 600k each if l remember right.

To be honest with you , i really see nothing wrong with how you have it , you open the back doors and all you need is there in front of you , not much you can do in my eyes , once you get that tank in job done .
Sure , you can make it look more pleasing to the eye , thats for you to decide , but functional wise you are there !
I have spent 12 years messing about with layouts , multiple reels , roller systems , astras , combos , T4 , now im back to Fiorino/Bipper/Nemo size , i open the back door and its all in front of me no more climbing about !

Funny you should say that, lm sat here at the drawing board and just came to the same conclusion.
I went through all the possible options 18 months ago when l got the van.
I do like the way you have your reel on bars though, l did think about that initialy but lm not experienced with metal work. Wood work is where lm up to and thats not great. Its my preffered material for diy, having said that l do like the look of that checkered sheet metal. Just wouldnt know how to cut it and install it.
I suppose the main theme is there l just want to have it more organised and aesthetic, and after seeing nathans pics its got me in the mood for another project.

Funny thing is , it has changed again since the bottom pic !
The metal frame has now gone , as has the heater , hose reel frame , hose , and im back to using wood again !
Im on the final stage before the big build , it will be much the same but in aluminium box section with a fully revamped home made powered reel !
I just cant help myself ;D

You've got big hands and a deep voice for a half decent looking blonde..

Great vid, more should do them or at least post a pic because it helps give ideas not just to newbies but also ones who have been stuck in their ways to maybe see that a slight change may be a good thing.
But great vid and nice set up! Im with P@F
That there isnt much you could change in way of layout and practicality.
For me it was to tidy up the wires n the battery, but it looks like yours are neat in their own box set up.

If you get the aluminium chequer plate around 2-3mm thick it will be fine.
It's available on Ebay but it should be cheaper if you can find a local supplier.
You can cut it easily enough with standard tct tooling/blades (circular saw, jigsaw, mitre saw etc.)
Then stick it to a plywood backing board with contact adhesive, mirror adhesive etc. and use a few screws too.

Did the hose reel frame with bearings not work?
I was looking to do something similar but still not sure how

looks like a good set up for you and the wife mate. :)
although i dont like them IBCs in vans.the frame and tank that you re going to put in is a lot more robust ( its similar to mine.)also mines a one man set up and smaller van so all my trad gear/cloths/spray bottles etc are near my side door for easy access without having to lean in the van.
where do you get your wire wool from and what do you use it for?
cheers paul.

Im not into the ibc either, but its done its job for £30.
I ordered the wire wool from ebay, its grade 0000 used by valeters for cleaning wind screens.
I use it for minging first cleans or problem windows, it takes paint off, bug spots, and it even turns hydrophobic windows a bit more hydrophillic. I had one window a couple of weeks ago that l just coudnt clean, l tried virosol a few times on it but it just kept drying with little spots all over it so l got the wool on it with some virosol on that and gave it a scrub and it dried like a new peice of glass.
You can wrap it around your mop and pole upstairs windows with it too, realy hand stuff.
I may look into the door storage ideas, got any pics?
Cheers
