Title: I need reminding (resin calc)
Post by: P @ F on July 22, 2017, 08:15:10 pm
Not sure if what i remember is right , i was always told by Varitech that a bag of resin was worked out by 500,000 divided by the TDS of the input water .
So if water was 100 PPM  then pure would be 5,000 L from a full bag .

So if  you fancy a sum then .......How much pure water will i get from my 10" DI , it holds 600ml of resin and the input is 001 PPM

I think it would be 12,500 L per 10" DI , thus filling my 350 L tank  35 times ???

Am i right or did i dream the whole thing up  ;D

That has to be wrong because if i worked 17 days a month then a bag of resin would last 6.5 years  ??? ??? ???

I appear to have confused myself a bit !

Much easier to put the figures into the calculator P @ F.

There are several calculators around and they all produce differing results, so I doubt there is a fixed formula.

Well going on that link , if i use 350L a day for 17 days , my average , then my DI will need a change every 9.6 weeks , which equates to just over 7 years , just over what varitech reckon , so there must be some truth in the workings !

Does 25 L of resin last for 6/7 years and not go off ?
