Title: Prices for "one off" cleans
Post by: David Beecroft on July 10, 2017, 08:49:33 am
Question for Alan Ritchie.
I read your Gumtree advertisement yesterday Alan and you say that one off cleans start at £45. I just wondered if you get ANY takers at that rate  or is just to stop anyone calling you?

Yes  £45 is a bargain to have your windows cleaned.

I don't generally do one offs but I've accidentally done loads at a loss when they lie to you about wanting regular.

I do not do them very often and avoid them like the pox but I generally start with x2 my normal 8 weekly price and then depending on how bad it is would depend if more were added to the price....

Sorry its vague but I just try to avoid them as best as I can.... :-)

If you read it carefully, it says it STARTS at £45. I don't think that's 'cheap' at all, that's about the right price. My one off cleans START at £50, so in essence pricing goes up from there and rarely do I actually charge the £50 it's often 1 or 2 times that by the time I'm done especially if it turns out to be a pita

I think "it depends".

If the person is polite, pleasant and up front about it being a "one off" and happy to wait until I am in their area then I will usually charge double my 8 weekly rate if it's not too filthy.

I can read. He is 10% cheaper than you but he's not cheap?

£45 is cheap.

So £150 then?

I'm doing a few at the moment, higher than normal price but not silly. I've got my stepson out leafletting for me and these extra cleans help pay his wage. Other than that I would be like everyone else and price x2, or more, I don't want them either.
