I don't understand that either. As far as I can tell £1 coins only have the date on the Queen's head side. It says "micro lettering" whatever that is.

Its a mistake that happens during manufacturing which makes the coin rare and therefore collectable to saddo's with more money than sense.
There was something similar with the 20p coin a while back

I have looked at the coin, you would need a microscope to spot this one.
