I've literally got it running in the last hour.
So yes, thankyou for the advice everyone.
Not entirely sure how long this pump will last, and how long it should be on in this weather, but it's working for now.
Don't like the extra things to go wrong though. I need to move again!

Is squeaky still alive?, thought he was buggered to death whilst cottage'n last winter ?along with Tosh and his dog !  :-)
