Title: Stinking van!

Hi all,

Now the weather has improved and it's getting warmer my van is being stunk out by off water left in hoses and machine waste tank. Its even bad in the morning after using equipment the previous day!

What do you all do? Is it something than just comes with the job or are there ways of dealing with the problem by running a disinfectant / deodoriser through hoses and tank after last job of the day?


Any suggestions appreciated!

I try to remember to clean the wate tank out on mine at the end of the day and dilute some disinfectant in it, then I just dump the water from the waste tank the next morning, Andy

Cheers Andy I'll give it a go. Not long till the footy starts eh mate. I'm like a kid at christmas! Great news Rooney's got the all clear!

Its double whammy for me, the footie starting and the fishing season on the 16th,trouble is I'll need to be up early to get my fishing in before kick off, and then theres a bit of work to fit in around it all, Andy

jason try the craftex kill odour o fresh range very effective i use it each evening in the waste tank

It maybe a pain, but I clean out the waste tanks, wipe the machines and flush water through the hoses every day. Each hose then gets wiped dry before being put back on the hose reel. Its the only way I can prevent any odour build up.

The difference is that I employ 5 people and they understand that this is part of the job before end of day. If I where a one man show, I would probably only flush out the hoses at the end of the week
