Post by: dazmond on June 13, 2017, 06:47:37 pm
it took ages to get it out from the top of my slx this morning.in the end i had to get a customer to help me twist/pull it out!ive got another 3 or 4 and all of them are a really tight fit.

how do i solve this issue?maybe use an electric sander on it?PTFE spray too?its really annoying me now. >:(

Just put a bit of vasaline on it when you get it.

This was a really old issue, newer goosenecks have been a much better fit.

I still prefer the Ali insert and screw the gooseneck to that

I had this with an old CLX pole once. I ended up filing down the gooseneck just to make it easier to pull in/out of the pole. Also rubber gloves help since they allow you to get a better grip & twist the gooseneck out.

I seem to remember someone on here once recommended a product called copaslip. Never tried it myself but may be worth a go.

Have I stumbled into "the Ann Summers meets DIY monthly magazine" thread?  :o
