ive got offices to clean this morning and a holiday caravan park/reception area.im a week behind due to a week off and the weathers awful! >:(.lots of regular domestic work due this week too.
do you guys clean commercial in stormy weather(wet and windy)?luckily the offices only need a 25ft pole fully extended to clean the first floor windows.
it certainly doesnt feel like its 5th june here in manchester! ::)roll ;D
-
Jacket and cap on and crack on :D
It's raining here too , and supposed to be raining all week so no time for slacking!
-
Yep. I have 2 blocks of flats to do in the rain today.
Tomorrow a large medical centre and a doctor's surgery in the rain.
-
Nathan does.
-
I don't clean over 20mph wind speed according to three/four apps I have. That's due to my RAMS though.
-
I'm waiting for a cherrypicker to turn up! Wheeeeeeeee.......

Which one do you recommend? Guess you need an anemometer to plug in?
-
Nathan does.
Haha ;D i like it!
Dont do commercial thankfully. But yep i clean residential in rain but ive slept in this morning. Seen its raining so gonna take my time n get a coffee before i venture out. Im having a lazy monday start today.
-
Hanging around. Nothing to do but frown. Rainy days and Mondays always get me down.

I'm not working at all now.
Got in the van this morning, gears a bit stiff, strange. 200 meters down the road could hardly shift gear at all, they were seized. Managed to force it into reverse and reverse all the way home, now waiting for my mechanic to come and have a look. Joy.
Not what you expect from a van with only 33000 on the clock.
-
I've sacked it off. Chucked it down at 9 as i got to first house. I waited 30 mins still lashing down so went home and yes stopped as soon as I got back. So nipped to shop and Chucked it down. Now it's stopped.
The worst thing about the weather in the uk is its unpredictability. If it's gonna sling it down then why not just do so all day. Having me up and down like a yoyo here.
Can't be arsed now, I'll. Have to crack on rest of week though as I'm a week behind as it is.
-
Sitting in van, waiting for rain to stop and get back to it. A bit pee'd off though as my hair looked nice this morning until the wind and rain started. ;D

Hate to say it but it sounds like your clutch has gone , either the thrust bearing has failed or the fingers on clutch cover have worn out , its what mine just did , i got 75k from mine though .
-
i started at 8:15am and finished at 11:15am.3 hours.£150-00.im happy with that today.got absolutely soaked.
ill be out again this evening(2 hours collecting)and its forecast even worse from 6pm! ::)roll
better luck tomorrow eh lads?
-
Supposed to be bad tomorrow as well. Probably weds before I get out
-
Thankfully i was inside having a coffee with a customer when it really pelted down and was glad i wasnt out in it. Even though i have my water proofs on, theres only so much wet work i can take in a day

Managed to get out in the end. Left the van to warm up for 20 mins, gave it a test run and the gears were as smooth as butter again ???

My family car........i had problems getting it into gear and so went to local garage thinking it was the clutch. The chap took it for a spin and said the clutch is fine and so lifted bonnet to look and called me over.
I couldnt believe it, the gear leverage was held together with tie grips ::)roll ::)roll
£50 for part and labour on top and back to running around again. As shocked as i was, cost wise, glad it wasnt the clutch!!
Ild still get it checked out,
-
Check the gearbox oil. If it's low it will do this as it takes a while for it to slosh around and lubricate everything.
-
Thought you lot have posted that you work in all weathers ;D ;D

Gotta call it a day when your undercrackers start getting wet

Some of you lot are wimps. Stayed out all day in the rain, stopped 1 hour early, only because i was low on water anyway, other than that all was good. Waterproofs coat on, shorts on ;D.
You know what i actually enjoyed working in the rain, it reminded me of when i was a kid playing outside in the rain getting drenched, except now im making money instead in the rain lol.
Hmmm, maybe it's just me, usually i dislike the rain, but today i was having fun tbh. Even did a first clean before hometime!

The good thing about working in the rain, you work a whole lot faster. Just a quick agitation on windows n let the rain do the rinsing. Its easy money and you get through a whole lot more work.
Win win

I always like to do my blocks of flats when it's ping down, more chance of everyone having their windows shut, makes the job alot easier.
-
We do commercial work what ever the weather providing it's safe to put the pole up , bit of rain doesn't matter as jobs have to be done on certain days regardless

Im suprised only 2 picked up on this post and not the ones i thought who would take the bait either. Ha, so i suppose i learnt something myself by posting such a post! which is obviously a joke post in relation to quality being questioned.
-
Yep any weather is good for us
-
domestic estate work scheduled in all week now.itll be a challenge to get it all cleaned in this weather!
-
Another day off for me, its not stopped yet today.
Luckily its very rare it rains like this all day. Tomorrow looks good, so might have to attempt a record day, possiby work past 3pm :D
-
Ive bunked off to watch wonder woman with my teen daughter.
So yep an early start and later finish for me tomorrow. But i worked hard in rain yesterday so as not to fall behind knowing im taking today off. Unless it hammers itself down for next couple of days, i should still be on schedule by friday ☺

Thursday is supposed to be bad as well.
But we've had it pretty good this year. I think I've only missed one day before this week so can't complain.
-
i battled on through it today.10am-330pm.a few cups of coffee made for me and most customers paid me too.mainly showery with the odd heavy burst but the wind really got strong this afternoon.4 jobs i couldnt do due to building work or holidays but all other work scheduled for today got cleaned.
............so im a happy chappy! :)
