Any users of both these poles?
I have been using Xtreme for a few years now.
Is there a noticeable difference at the 46 /47 ft
mark.
Is the extra dollar worth it for the Ultimate.
Does it last longer? Is there less fatigue at the end of the day using ?
A lot of questions but it is a lot of money .

I had the old type extream with the 3 point clamping didn't like it at all to whippy , sold it and now have the ultimate it's a bit heavier but stiffer and better in the wind very pleased with it , not sure but I think the new style extream is a bit stiffer than the older one and you can clamp it anywhere

have owned both xtremes - ones with the bands and presently use the newer ones without.
I am wanting a comparison of day to day use between the newer xtreme and the Ultimate if anyone owns both?

There's a clip on you tube. I like the extreme for lightness but prefer the modular from Gardiner's on large jobs as it combines lightness with more rigidity, just a shame it's modular so if weight isn't a problem go with rigidity as it's less tiring working longer times at height with firmer poles.

That is a good video SAJ but not much explanation on what the difference is working a full day with either pole( for a comparison) .
I am sure there must be some fellow cleaners who own both poles and prefer one to the other.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on the comparison between the 2 poles.
I was worried that the extra weight would be a concern when compared to the xtreme X3 .
Or does the rigidity on the Ultimate make it a more comfortable pole to use for long periods?

Why don't you email Alex at Gardiners?
I've always found them extremely helpful (even when i've mucked up ordering pole sections).
I'm sure Alex would give you his genuine opinion (and his expert opinion) between the 2 poles (rather than try and sell you one or the other).
Might be worth a shot?

we like the ultimates better , but its not as easy as that , it depends on your work . if you only using it say once a month and its a full day job with not much wind and that's straight forward then get the extreme and save you cash its still a great pole and theres not that much in it on the easier tall jobs some of the lads even say they liked having a small amount of wip on these jobs
however if you using it more and the jobs are in a wind tunnel or get the odd gust then you may want to get the ultimate which will also give you a gate way to go much higher if the needed , at this type of job its easyier to control so it saves you hurting your lower back if the wind get hold of it, and after four floors the ultimate feels a lot safer to use but that's just the less bend in it
some of the lads think theres very little in it , my hubby as a bad elbow and always uses the ultimate as he says it hurts much less at the end on the day using it , yes there heaver and they need a little more work getting up there but theres less work on the joints to clean with them and keep them under control making it easier to use for him he wont have anything else now

Not everybody works regularly at 40ft +
The majority of my work is at these heights.
I want to be able to work at least into my 50s (43 now)
I started Reach and Wash about 15 years ago with an original OTT (IONICS ) 65ft Carbon.
That was a monster.
Then a Supermax . Then a Supalite
Now an Extreme.How things have improved.
Your body starts getting used to the tools you have.
I may stick with the extreme as I work to maximum 50ft.
Using the Supalite for 1 60ftjob I have.

If I'm doing a big high building I prefer using the lightest modular pole and work my way down the height of the building as I go around it as it's only 2kg so lighter than an extreme. If it's short high jobs I prefer an extreme as it's simpler to put up and down, weighs a bit more but still pretty rigid and light enough to use all day long on tall buildings. If it's gusty I prefer supermax or Ionics or even facelift old version 44ft pole or even Ionics ergolite as it can still be collapsed quickly if it gets to blustery but the pole is more rigid despite being heavier and doesn't bend so much in the wind which gives me time to react when caught with a sudden gust of wind and don't have to worry about the pole snapping because of strong gusty wind. Always like to use extreme brushes and find the natural bristles stick to the windows like glue and scrub good, dislike using heavy brushes over 25ft.

see no I am thinking after reading this , is he better using a superlite for the bigger jobs then the ultermite ? would it be nice if alex had a open day where people could try all these big poles out on a job befoure buying them ?

AGREED. ALEX SHOULD DEFO RUN AN OPEN DEMO DAY FIR THESE PRICY POLES. WOULD FIRE SURE MAKE A DECISION IN BUYING EASIER. I ALSO HAVE EXTREME 47 BUT WANT TO TRY THE ULTIMATE POLES.

I've not used an ultimate the super lite is good up to about 25-30 mph of wind after that it's very unpredictable I spent first 15years my wfp life mostly at 45-70 feet
The superlites were a beautiful relief, I remember the first prototype I got from alex in fact we still have the oringinal sonewhere
Sadly working at height for years has an effect on the body Down the line

I agree Susan the Supalite is great pole.
With it being modular however it is too much of a faff organising the sections.
+ you don't have the in between adjustments you can get on a telescopic. Especially when working on a tall building down a narrow alley.

I would stick with the extreme 47, maybe look at buying the 13ft extentions for it, takes it upto a 60ft pole.
I use the extreme 47 for most of my work , use upto 5 of the single extensions on it and it feels great still, no dipping in the pole at all, and that's 72 ft..... High strength ones....
Have a few windows were I have to add the triple to the bottom but this causes the pole to dip slightly but very much manageable still.
for what the ultimate costs I would rather invest into making the extreme higher, if u in north west and want to try before u buy am happy to assist
