Woolsafe approved chemicals are better cleaning chemicals for oriental rugs?

If you mean better because they have been tested and proven not to be detrimental to wool compared to other high alkaline chemicals, then yes, however its not only chemicals that determine the success of cleaning its the process as a whole. As far as rugs go the best and most effective way of cleaning rugs is off site in a purpose built rug cleaning plant.

Never forget that Wool safe Approved simply means the manufacturer of whatever chemical has paid to have this moniker applied to his chemical.

Any chemical that isn't Wool safe Approved is either not safe for the product or simply that the manufacturer of the chemical couldn't be bothered to pay for the endorsement. It doesn't mean by default that the chemical is unsafe for cleaning that product.

Take a look at what endorsements money can buy -

1001 is endorsed many times over by Moneysafe 😀

And we all know 1001 cleans a big big carpet for less than half a crown.  ;D
